The core is questionable, but 1ghz on the memory should be cake. 564/1.17ghz OC on my Evga agp version from 500/900 stock. These cards are overclocking beasts. I'm adding this in because the heatsink/setup of the card looks IDENTICAL to mine. Probably the same reference version just mine has vga/dvi.

How would this card compare to a 9800Pro Playing BF2 only? Right now I'm stuck playing 800x600 med/High setting(2gig ram,A64@2.46ghz.)

Thanks all. Connoisseur said "Yeah it's a no brainer. I'm an ATI fan but this round def goes to Nvidia. Check out the Anandtech test. The X700 pro is only slightly better performing than a 9800pro. At best, the 6600GT spanks it across the board. At worst, it's a tie. And it's got dual DVI and HDTV connectors. Something the X700 is lacking."
Cool, I could prolly use a good spanking, lol.Anyways, I'm in for one.

I'll tell you why this is a no brainer over the BB BF deal on the x700. Cards aside, you get free shipping with this and no tax (for many). I figured that I'd have to pay $14 tax on the x700, so it makes it $114 AR instead of $100. Plus, you don't have to waste gas and wait in any rediculous lines tomorrow morning.

Google is your friend. Find any benchies with the 6600GT PCI-E vs. X700 pro PCI-E and the performance difference will be virtually identical. The 6600GT uses an HSI whereas the x700 AGP natively supports agp but the hsi has almost no impact on performance.

ack. a bit loud eh?

should have known.

it'll blow away my current radeon 9800 pro, but the 9800 pro has a VGA silencer on it.. so its pretty darn quiet.

I just checked and it doesnt seem like there's a VGA silencer for 6600GT (AGP).. there is one for the PCIe version, but yeah not sure if it fits.. any suggestions?

Good thing these come with temp sensors...
I got my eVGA 6600GT AGP from Circuit City with a $100 rebate for $150. I had to bios trigger mine... read 53C

Slip on less than AS5 than I needed onto the core, threw an 80MM fan into the case and temps? 44C.

Overclocked from default 500 / 900 to 575 / 1170 completely stable. I think I got lucky though...
~44C idle, 71C on full load. greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat AGP chip. Returning it tomorow, getting this, LOL.

OK, I jumped on this one.

Now I see ZZF has the PCI-E version for $109. I actually read one review where it seemed like the AGP performed better than the PCI-E, is that true? <--Just looking to justify my impulse buy
