I put an order in on this card as well. On the receipt you receive after you order, it specifically says, "Back Orders Unfortunately, we do not take back orders at this time. If you wish to be notified by e-mail when an item comes in, please use the Out of Stock Alert located on the product detail page."

So there's a good chance all these orders we are putting through will simply be cancelled. We shall see.

Yea, I got the cancellation email. One of the few to order it when it was instock.
Heh, all these retailers giving BS information, then cancelling it.
This one was instock yet not instock. WOW???
The other company I ordered from had it instock, but said those numbers were for items in the returned warehouse.
Apparently items are scanned back into the system even if they are damaged and then later removed. Funny how the price was jacked up (to avoid other buyers to purchaes the item).

Companies these days not playing nice and efficiently.

It would be nice to find just a reasonable price, not even a HOT one lol. Newegg and ZZF are up to 409$ come one... I would jump at even 375.

The only place I can find with an evga 6800GT in stock comes out to about $465 with shipping. Surely someone can do better than that?!

evga.com has gt for 400 if this order does fall througth i will head that way. they are out of stcok but they are expected in 8-02

As I posted in another thread about a deal that's evaporated - I think that PNY's to blame because they seem to have misled or mistakenly quoted a too-low price and then pulled the rug out on the dealers, leaving them to withstand the firestorm of customer fury. Other brands aren't experiencing these shenanagins, are they? PNY = teh suck.

Hey, Page's real time stock inventory says one of their distributors has 15 instock, but at the new $405 price. What's up with that?

Slightly OT for this thread, but something like that actually happened to me once at McD's. I ordered a couple of items off of the value menu, plain, and then asked for some additional condiments at the window, and the guy told me that would be an additional $0.20. I was like, wtf?? I've never been charged extra before for asking for condiments. (I usually order some McChicken sandwiches plain, and then ask for BBQ sauce at the window.) The strange irony is, up until that point, they've always given me *two* sauces, even when I only ask for *one* (which is enough for two sandwiches). So I put them in the fridge and save them for other things.

This whole 6800 gt deal is stupid. What's up with these guys? Do they not have anyone that can project sales and estimate production quantities? How long have these companies being doing this?

In my quest for a card, I've have several instances where the price of the in-cart item jumped right before my eyes after adding zip code or updating quantities... just absurd.

Found an Albatron 6800 gt for $439 shipped at allstarshop (yes, they are all gone now) and even though I called right after ordering and they said they had 5 left in stock after mine, and even though my order status has changed from Credit Check to Released For Shipping, and even though I called them again to verify that everything had gone through with the order my credit card has not yet been charged.

I doubt I'll ever see that card.

I don't know what's going on - seems like they shipped 3% of the quantity needed to satisfy demand, and that just doesn't make sense.

BTW, priced jumped from $439 to $459 in a two hour period after I ordered.

 

Got my PNY 6800 from Provantage last Friday. Rockin good news.
