I got mine from BB last night $129 with a $30 BB MIR.

I installed and tested it last night

3dmarks 2001 SE

Stock settings and 28.32's 6919

Stock settings and beta 40.41's 7332

tweaked settings and beta 40.41's 7448

tweaked settings and beta 40.41's oc'd to 265/575 7652

I am still messing with it and hoping to break 8000 tonight, but I dont think I will....hehe
still its not a bad deal for $100 bucks and I over doubled my scores in 3D Marks 2001 SE

P.S. My old card was a Leadtek GF2 Pro with the fast memory (cant remeber the exact ns of it)

Stock settings and 28.32's 3760

Grabbed the last one on shelf. $129.97 + tax - $30 rebate = $110.69 outta store.

I saw the following from the product description. Does it make sense this PNY GeForce4 Ti 4200 64MB, outperforms the 128MB version of the Ti 4200?!

The PNY Verto Ti 4200 is a member of the hot new NVIDIA GeForce4 Titanium series product line. It features 64MB of high-speed DDR SDRAM, an integrated GPU heatsink/cooling fan and custom memory heatsinks to keep the memory running cool for ultimate graphics performance. The faster DDR memory (500MHz) used on the 64MB GeForce4 Ti 4200, outperforms the 128MB version of the Ti 4200 (444MHz memory clock). PNY Verto Ti 4200 provides increased frame rates for faster game play.

I've read a couple of reviews mentioning the 64M cards are using 500MHz memory while a lot of 128M versions using slow 444MHz, 64M cards (not just from PNY but some other makers) DO egde out the 128M ones by 5% or more. Also the 64M cards has a higher o/c potential. I really don't see any point of getting a slower 128M card for $50 more.

Got the last one of the shelf in Fair Lakes, VA.

This is a great deal for me. $135 (including tax) - $30 MIR - $50 gift card (b-day present) - $20? (sell my used GF2 GTS-V) = $35.

Thanks for the post.

Can you please post the compusa ad that you used for pricematching? I don't see how you got it down to $97 before the rebate. Thanks

In the system requirements on the box it says it requires a 350W power supply. Are they serious? I'm still getting by with a 235 watter.

I saw that too, I don't think its really a big issue with a 300W PS. I have a couple of 300Ws but I am waiting for my SVC raidmax 350W anyway.

Here's a link to the CompUSA.com price but it says $129.99 after rebate

I might check my Sunday Oregonian newspaper for a copy of the CompUSA flyer when I get home.

Does anyone else have a Sunday newspaper with sales flyers?

The ad in the flyers reads, $199 - $50 Instant rebate - $30 Mail in rebate, I guess that does not help though.

Mattcham,

If you have a CompUSA around you, here is a tip for getting it from CompUSA. Have BestBuy people print you a copy of Price Verification slip, bring this to CompUSA, normally if you request a pricematch to a competitor, it is the store policy that CompUSA has to check the price and availablity from the competitor by a phone call. If you provide the Price Verification slip from BestBuy, they will usually price match it without calling BestBuy.

yep youre right but the ppl didnt understand what they had in the locked cabinet and they scaned it at $199 but after a slight objection about the price marked on the item they ran it through..............lucky me

This is Freds in Mill Creek, Wa....they have 2 more in the box too

Might have to give that a try. If doesn't work then head over to Best Buy. I live pretty close in the Silver Lake area.

I currently have a Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS board. Will this 4200 be a substantial improvement? i.e. will I be able to see the difference? Also, since the Radeon 9700 is almost out, might these be coming down in price a bit more? I'm just wondering if I should hold out for a Ti-4600 instead. Are those significantly faster?

I looked at my CompUSA ad early this morning. While it does list the Ti4200 as being $129 after rebates in smaller print right under it lists the MX420 for $99. I'm guessing these guys that got the Ti4200 for $99 just got lucky and the person doing the price match looked at the price of the MX.

Most of the time Best Buy sales run till the next ad comes out which is in sundays paper...So you have till atleast then. But this may not be a advertised deal then it could last longer.

this is for the Rebate
The Receipt says:
Must be Purchased during 09/15/2002 to 09/21/2002
and must be post marked 30 from purchase

P.S. Head over to CompUSA and price matching. Here is the break down

CompUSA Sales it for
$199.00
$40.00 (instant rebate)
$30.00 (CompUSA Mail-in-Rebate)
$129.00 Final price

Price Match Break Down @ CompUSA
$129.00 (Price Matched to Best Buy)
$40.00 (instant rebate)
$30.00 (CompUSA Mail-in-Rebate)
$59.00 Final price

This is also worth a Try

Well I went to CompUSA and I just got back! They called BB and got the price No Problems they matched it and gave me the $30.00 Rebate but wouldn't give the $40.00 instant rebate. Couldn't give me a reason and the Manager was already gone for the night. But I got his card with his name and number to call him tomorrow. Which I will do. I will let you know how it goes. If it doesnt work, Oh Well....I still got a good deal, just trying to get a better one using CompUSA's Price Match Policy...The only problem I had was with the $40 rebate and I told him "If thats the case you need to say in your add that the $40 instant doesnt apply to Price Match, but since your add says $40 off and your Price Match says they will Price Match any in store price on anything they carry they should have to honor it no matter what the out come is"... I will update you tomorrow on how it goes

So, this thing is going back to the sore. How long should I wait for NV30?
Thanks for the deal, though.

What matterrs isnt 3dmark, its the games you play. Did the games you play improve noticably? Can you run at higher resolutions? Can you use aa or aniso? If the new card didn't improve games at all, then by all means return it. But don't bring it back just because your 3dmark score went up "only" 30%.

I wonder why they don't use the same 128mb ram crushing performance technology into their 4400 and 4600 cards....
