NYCDNO: Yeah man, you cant take in an online printout. They do not pricematch to online. What you should of done is ask them to call CC to confirm.

Lmandrake: LOL! Thats even worse than when I talk to CSR's.

I'm smack in the middle of Indiana and there aren't any
Best Buys or Circuit City's around. Could some one do this
deal for me and ship it to me? I'll send you the $$ of course.

email me: mickeypo@singnet.com.sg

I'll pay for shipping and all that. If any

I got in on this deal on a fluke. I was in line at the customer service counter to ask for a sale flyer, the guy in front of me was pricematching the drive and I asked him whats up, he told me and I asked the CSR if she would price match for me also, she said no because the Somerville CC was out of stock and the guy in front of me got special dispensation. I said hey it's in stock in Saugus, she says thats not local I said let me talk to a manager, asked manager if he price matched Saugus CC, he said yes, CSR apologized and said she could only authorize with managers approval and by the way there is a rebate also.
I have sent in BB rebates with price matched price and gotten them with no problem. Also some of the quickest rebate I have gotten were from the BB Maine address.
Morph, I fail to see where I deceived anyone. "Electricity comes from electrons, Morality comes from morons"

No dice for me

The manager told me that they would "price match" to $80, but thats it. I asked him how that is price matching when CC sells for $60. He told me it just was. That meant that after rebate I pay $40.

I almost bought it but I dont like to rely on a rebate to make the deal worthwhile...

You people are letting yourselves get stepped on by the managers. It's your customer rights to get a fair pricematch on any product, that another competitior has in-stock. I'm tired of always seeing people get the run around from BB. Either they offer 110% guarantee to us customers, or BB needs to do away with it, if they can't keep up with their company's promise. I would go back, if I were you and try again.

Hmm... I dont think this its a matter of allowing myself to "get stepped on."

The way it turned it was that there was some other dude in front of me at customer service. I was waiting in line while he was trying to get the deal. By the time he was done trying the manager had made up his mind that he would not price match. Despite this fact I spent another 5 minutes talking to the manager. I explained very clearly that I expected him to admit that he wasnt willing to price match, or give me the price + rebate. He refused. I only have enough patience to step through the conversation 3 times before quitting. The worst part is that I asked to talk to his manager, but he WAS the head manager at the time... ugh! Anyways, Im not going to get into a shouting match over $20...

No problems here: Walked into Best Buy... Grabbed the last two on the shelf... Checked out... Took them to my car... Went back in... Went to Customer Service desk... Asked for PM to CC for one of the HDs... Showed them the Weekly Ad printout from CC and told them that the CC's in-store price was the same as the ad ($59.99)... CSR called CC to verify... Gave me the PM... I asked for the PM on the second one... They did it - no questions asked!

$99.99 - $44 PM = $59.99 + tax = $59.21 - $40 MIR = $19.21 + $.37 stamp = $19.58/each = Great deal! Thanks guys!

When I went back in for my price match, they called Circuit City and they said they were all out. So I drove down the street to CC asked if I could buy my drive now and have them call me when it comes in, they said no prob. so I took my receipt back to BB and they gave me the price match. Called CC back asked them to cancel my order and they did.

I bought drive for $99.98 at BB yesterday. Today I tried to PM CC. My BB in E.Hanover NJ wouldn't PM do to rebate. When the girl ran the PM paperwork it printed out the rebate forms also. They said price was the same with their rebate. I'm returning drive for refund to BB andI'm gonna have OM PM sice CC is out of stock and then send in the BB rebate with the BB rebate receipt and see how it goes. Think it will fly??

I must say, this was the most risky hot deal I had to get to work. The Customer Service desk is attached to the "Computer Tech" part of BB. There were "Computer Technicians" walking past me trying to get a PM, boy was I sweating it. Of course if I was to get caught, I would look pretty stupid, only if it came down to it was I going to say that I didn't get a MIR form . Turned out that a "Computer Technician" actually signed off for my PM to occur. Walked out of store, heart rate resumed regular pace. GREAT HOTDEAL!

Wow! Must be a lot of tension in some areas of the country! Here on Thursday night in the Seattle area, I went to my local Best Buy in Tukwila, but they were all out of the 40-gigger, but calling revealed plenty at a new store in Federal Way. I had the ad from CC's Sunday ad in hand, and snagged two. I bought one with cash and one with the VISA for the full price, receiving MIR, rebate receipt, and regular cash receipt. I went to the car, ate the rest of my Wendy's, and walked back in 10 minutes later, headed for the CS counter. A very nice-looking, slim brunette helped me. I was playing nice with her, as she went through the PM. No problems, I was polite, and her manager was right there close, doing paperwork. The manager woman just signed off on the gal's PM paperwork, and the gal gave me a VISA return and a cash return. Total with tax, before $40 rebate(s), is $20.92 plus a stamp, each drive. One is for my gf, right? Why are the rest of you guys sweating it? Did you not think this was legal?

What's up with <Ford LoRider>..... "this was the most risky hot deal I had to get to work." Huh? He's acting like a shoplifter, for God's sake! Get a grip, son!

Son of a....

I went in, and everything was going OK with the price match at BB until that rebate receipt printed out... and then the layd went and talked to a manager, and he was like nope, sorry.. this is the same price after rebate as CC's current price... I argued with him for a while that CC's price was instant, and that I would have to wait for a rebate on his, until finally I just gave up and told him I was just going to go buy it from CC, and that he does a great job with "Customer Satisfaction" ...

Maybe I will go back and try the Buy-the-drive-and-PM-later technique... might just pass up on this deal though.

Sorry to hear that Frosty3799. I was able to get mine at the Grand Rapids, MI BB, but only after a LOT of guilt from the manager. He swore he would NEVER do it again. Sad thing was, another customer saw what I was buying and got all excited when he found out that I actually got the deal. I had to break it to him that he wasnt gonna be able to get it. The store manager actually consulted about four other managers before finally giving it to me. I had a good time being a totally pissed off "regular customer", though. Thanks for the lead !! More power to all you guys !!
