heheh...out of stock on a pre-order. Now that's a stretch. I did get in on the thing and got my confirmation email. However, I was one of the early ones. Volume buyers for ebay reselling...yeah, they have a right to do it. But there's lots of things in life that one has rights for. That doesn't make them "right". Bah! Humbug! on you ebay volume resellers.

This does appear to be a single-player game with built-in network code, as another poster wrote. What that means, apparently, is that people who write mods for it should be able to get it to work in multiplayer mode. Otherwise, no reason to have the net code in.

on preorders, I'm pretty sure they don't bill you until right before they complete the order to ship it out.

which is why i was asking if they -actually- charged something higher (or added a 2nd charge to make up the difference).

It seems that these pre-orders for $18 might just be going through. I just had the Ebates discount from WalMart show up today. Showed the correct ($17.97) price too!

This is ridiculous. I can understand not honoring the price (to a degree), but offering no explanation and offering no consolation (it was their error) is a lousy move. Certainly Walmart can correct an error, but I don't see how that empty e-mail corrected anything. It was basically a shove out into the street.

And edplayer, I hardly burnt myself--I'm not part of the Walmart customer BASE, but another Hot Dealer. I don't shop at Walmart, but I'll take a deal like this anytime.
