I called as well. They said they won't honor it, and that with the 100 one circulating around someone had fraudulently altered the rebate to say it was valid to 6/1. I guess I'm only sending in for the 50...

*edit. hooray for commas in sentences.*

Wow, talk about a conspiracy. The $100 rebate IS valid. When I first posted the new rebate form I just posted the link to the JPG, but here are the source URLs so you all can verify the authenticity.

As large as SD memory goes, which is currently 512MB. But 512MBers are not really worth the loot IMO, they are about $200 or so. You can get 256MBers for about $60-$70 or even less after MIR.

Okay I bought this thing In-Store on 05/05, the $ 100 rebate for OD printed right out with the receipt and ya it does say valid till 06/01, so I don't know what the confusion is all about?

Ok, so went to Staples, no way at $199, same at Circuit city, except manager was very nice and seemed to want to but it "would not make business sense, they would lose money". Went to Compusa, great managers, their cost is $174.xx and they would sell it to me at $299 plus give me a Prefered custumer rebate card worth $100 for use in compusa.
The tosiba rebate worked for another $100.

All in all a very decent deal without much acrobatics to get it done.

Does anyone know if you can use 802.11b to connect this to a network? If so, how?

All of the cards you found are Type 1 Compact Flash, we need SDIO. Keep looking.

As of 5/6 the rebate on the receipt is $50, valid till 06/01.

As I said. The office depot rebate number is denying that the 100 dollar rebate was valid until 6/01. They're saying it was only good on 5/4 and 5/5, and that if you have a recepit with a later date than that they will not honor the 100 dollar rebate. They've got to be lying, even the price sticker at OD said 100 dollar rebate until 6/01.

Actually when the 50 printed out, I pointed this out to the girl and her manager refunded me 50 dollars difference because their price marker said 100 dollar rebate and they could only find a valid 50 in their computers.

Just read my post above...I link to both $50 and $100 coupons, BOTH are from the same SOURCE which is actually Office Depot's REBATE company!

Just do the $100...look at the URLs...save receipts, photocopy everything...their own site has the stuff linked. No one DR'd it.

I believe you, otherwise, nothing would explain the fact that the store tags I saw said 100 dollars back as well. Even still, if they aren't going to honor it, what should be done from here?

The Socket Wifi listed above is for Compact Flash expansion slots, I have yet to come across a SD Wifi Card.

Anyone own one or have been successful in taking this baby wireless? Please post your method and hardware used.

That's what the first line of your quoted post said...I screwed up and thought the CF was SDIO.

SDIO devices aren't out yet, but they're supposed to be out very shortly.

SDIO wifi cards are only starting to get demostrated. They'll come out maybe in Q3 2003. I've heard that they'll have SDIO Wifi + 256mb in one card for $150 at first, but that's all I know. Hopefully, those wifi + 256 cards will get to be much cheaper later on, kinda like how CF wifi cards are around $30 now, much cheaper than a few months or half a year ago.

For now, the lowest price on 256SD is probably around $48 or so, and I got my 128SD for $30 before.
If you buy some SD memory, avoid Sandisk at all costs! Especially the Sandisk 256mb cards; they've had tons of issues with not only the Toshiba PDAs but also others like the Dell Axim.
