To get the difference on the price drop, I would have to drive 2hrs round trip and use gas, to get to my closest B&M OD. Not worth it for me but thanks on the heads up.:frown:

Looks like they caught on and informed people to tell their customer service reps to not do the PM. At least that's what the girl said to me the second time I called. Maybe some other people will have better luck. I'll try going instore.

Mine was exactly the same and the Mgr didn't even care about the $50 coupon.

I originally bought mine instore on 4-30 using a $50 OM online coupon. When the 2 OD rebates showed up, I did a return/rebuy on 5-9. Lucky for me since OD's website is saying if you bought it between 5-4 thru 5-9 you still get the $100 rebate and if you bought it between 5-5 thru 5-9 you'll still receive the $50 rebate. After the Toshiba rebate, they're paying me to buy it

I bought mine at BM on 5/6 and mailed off the 2 rebates yesterday. Since I sent the original receipt in with the Toshiba rebate (website said original was required) do you thinkl OD will give me the price match with just a copy of my receipt? Another $50 back would be great.

You have erred in sending out the original receipt. If you go to Toshiba's Rebate Page and click on Frequently Asked Questions the third Q&A is:

Q. Do I need to send my original receipt?
A. No, please send a clear copy of your receipt, your may need the original for warranty purposes.

I always wonder why some rebates ask for the original receipt. It is a legal document and handing it over releases all parties from obligations and benefits... Very sneaky.

i just called right now to try and get the 50 credit to me, and she was wise to the situation. Told me that b/c of the current $50 rebate that they will not be price matching, and would be cancelling those that went through previously, which I can't imagine they can do. She was stubborn and wouldn't budge even with me saying I wouldn't be getting the rebate, so no go for me.

Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Peacock, alot of people on FW said they had the same problem trying to do the pm through OD.com's csr. They said they took their receipts to the store and got it with no problem.

Interesting.. I received a call from customer service. The rep said that she was going to send a request for them to send me a rebate form. I pretended to not know what she was talking about, but pretty much assumed they were not going to give me the $50 pricematch.

Today, someone calls and says that since Toshiba took their rebate off, she is just going to credit me $50!!

If this all comes through, this will be the sweetest deal ever!

SWEET! After the phone CSR shot me down today, I went back to the store. The customer service manager gave me the price match with no problem. He even looked at the date on my original receipt and commented on my getting it in time for all the rebates. He actually congratulated me for scoring such a great deal as he handed me back $52!

Final numbers:

$299 on May 1
- 100 Toshiba MIR
- 100 OD MIR
- 15 (coupon)
- 52 price match

= $32!!

Oh, and I just sold my 2 year old Palm IIIxe and foldable keyboard for $75. So, when all is said and done, I've got a brand new PPC and forty bucks in my pocket!

I've never failed in arguing that I could return it and go to the other store and not have to wait for a rebate. Seems to always work for me.

You're too late These are virtually non-existant in stores anymore and the Toshiba $100 rebate expires today (5/15).
