That is way too good to be true. They even have the 9000 Pro listed as $85. Maybe they left a "1" out?

I don't think the 9700 has shipped.
They're probably still in TSMC's fab plants on their way to the ati plant to be made into video cards.
Shoulf be finish and on a boat to here by middle of next month.

From the specs on the page. I think it's worth taking the risk for a preorder... weird pricing though.

I took the plunge. They have the 9000 Pro listed also, so I doubt it's a case of mistaken identity between the 9000 and 9700. They probably left the 2 off the $299. Got a receipt and email confirmation. Worse that could happen is that they cancel my order. Best case scenario, I get a kick a$$ video card for beans.

To those that may be skeptical - notice that the description shows this being an OEM card. If this indeed true, then you should probably expect that the core/memory speeds will be lower than the 325/310 of the retail boxed product. But if this card is true, and it is capable of 75-80% of the retails card's performance, then it's a great deal.

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 64MB VC-EX-ATI680P 1 99.00
DDR AGP Video Card - OEM
w/ TV-Out & DVI-I

I ordered one to replace my original Radeon 8500 64MB. Used AMEX private payments for safety.

Good luck to those that give this deal a shot.

so, are you guys saying that 9700OEM is slower and has 64mb??
I don't care about the speed
I KNOW 9700 is much much much more expensive!!
But I don't think they will actually ship to them..
I'm just gonna wait for those ppl to receive their board and if it is in fact 9700 pro, I will buy all and open an "ATI" store or something..lol

The card on the yahoo website does have the same exact picture of what we know as the "real" 9700 Pro as can be seen on Ati's site....so this is probably just a host of screwups on yahoo's part with getting the ram and the price wrongly stated.

I will bet that it is the 9000 pro. Here is another pricewatch competitor selling it for that price;

atacom.com

There is at least one mistake; either the 64mb part or the model # and the picture. Do you think the mistake will be in your favor ???

I ordered anyway, but now that I think about it this is a loser. They obviously don't have the 9700, nobody does. So they can't send it out by accident before their mistake is discovered. The first rule is never call the vendor in case of pricing error, so I guess I will wait this one out.
