I ordered one on the night they posted them. I recently bought an Radeon 9800np from Circiut City for $249, but after tax and the extended warranty it was about $330+(not a good deal). It came with infinion(sp) memory and I could only get mine up to 370/320 stable. At newegg the price with extended warrenty and express order processing was $260, so I'm taking the radeon card back to cc. They refund no matter what in the first 14 days of a purchase. I am hopeful that it will have the samsung memory, but even if it has only the infineon memory I will have saved 70+ dollars. I will let you guys know which type of memory is on the card. It is currently in route to the house.

The refurb AIW 9800 Pro at newegg right now's real tempting.
I've always wonder why in the hell do the refurb cards never come with the accessories. What do they do with all the accessories?
I know a lot of these are returns from customers which didn't include all the accessories when they returned it. So now they're charging us less on customer returns and for whatever reason.
So they must have a stock pile of accessories that they could sell?

Isn't the warranty automaticly off when you OC?

I don't avocate fraud (just overclocking ), but there's generally no way to prove the card has been overclocked (that, and the fact that it would take too long to descern). Flashing the BIOS voids the warranty AFAIK, but you can just reflash the card back to it's original BIOS if you encounter problems.

It doesn't. What I do is I try to add as many as possible in my shopping cart. Then it gets adjusted to as many as they have in stock.

I just bought this even though I have one from best buy that I got open boxed for $220, but for those who recently got these, are they still samsung chips? I have the bad infineon and while the core clocks to 420 the memory maxes out to 325. Looking to return the best buy one as I bought it on the 10th and still got soem days to go before I return it

Obviously you have never had a video card crap on you (unlike this post). When a video card gives out, it generally goes all the way. So Batman, answer this question.

How are you going to flash the BIOS back if you can't see the screen?

Thanks for crapping woodscomp, I'm babysitting this thread because I care, and it's not worth it when I crapped on. You do, however, bring up a valid question, and there are two equally valid answers: Do as explrsport says, or make a bootable floppy/cdrom that contains an autoexec.bat that automatically flashes the card back to it's original BIOS. You can always keep that CD/floppy around in case "sh*t happens". Here is a thread on the subject (look down @ the 7th or so post)

I'll post back as soon as I get it. Hope it has samsung chips.

how weird, I installed mine and installed the lasted drivers (3.8). Under my display adaptor settings it shows up as 9800 PRO. How do I check my clockspeeds with this thing (never had an ati card)?

it also screwed up my font sizes, which is damn annoying

Damn, can everyone who just bought this tell me what kind of memory and pcb you got? I just ordered this hoping for samsung memory and now that it might not be possible, i feel like it's tough luck for me since I already have an ATI Radeon 9800 from Best Buy with Infineon 3.0ns RAM
