Still, could've/should've posted the new info in the original thread. I went and picked one up today. It's for real, a $10 Radio Shack rebate in-store (only?). Both rebates are for this product and only one requires the original UPC. Get on it!

Edit: Maybe topic summary could say "or 19.99 online" or something so that people know it's not strictly an in-store deal.

Edit 2: What is that extra plastic piece that comes with it? (besides the cap)

If you remove the small plastic cap on the end of the flash drive, then the flash drive will fit into that larger plastic piece (it appears to protect the device moreso than that small cap does.

By the way, there appears to be a $10 SanDisk MIR available online as well, which may be able to be combined w/ the RadioShack $20 MIR. For those who wish to purchase this online, this additional rebate may work for you.

The CSR's at both the RadioShack & SanDisk rebate centers state that these rebates will not exclude each other. You may wish to call & verify the info as well.

The SanDisk CSR noted that only one SanDisk rebate can be submitted. So if one were to submit two of the $10 SanDisk rebates, then at best only one would work (and hopefully none would be invalidated if more than one were submitted).

So, the best possible price for this item is $9.99 AR (plus any sales tax)

I picked up one of these today in the store. Two mail-in rebates printed out with the receipts... one for $20 and one for $10, making final price $9.99 + tax.

I haven't opened it yet, so can't comment on the cap, but I plan to use the other plastic thing to protect it while I carry it on my keychain. This because with my previous USB key drive, a Micro Advantage 64MB one, the plastic casing broke apart and a capacitor broke off the printed circuit board and it no longer worked. I'm excited about the increased capacity and what I've read about it being more rugged and even possibly waterproof.

The $20 rebate you can print out online from Rat Shack's site asks only for original or photocopy of both the UPC and your receipt!

So . . . boys and girls, still $9.99 plus tax AR! :laugh:

Despite the fact that there is fine print language on both online printable rebates stating "not valid w/other offers", the very helpful rebate rep @ 1-888-326-6188 (both online rebates go to Mesa, AZ) finally stated that as long as one rebate accepts photocopies, and the $20 one does, BOTH rebates will be simultaneously honored!

So, you can even get this for $9.99 AR from the comfort of your l33t basement lair! :thumbsup:

I tried to pick one up at the Peasanton store on Rosewood. Out. Had the guy call a few stores on the TriValleyarea. All out. Even had him call to San Jose, where I live. Out. I said not many drives for the sale to be out already. He said they started with 23 this morning. I said really?? You sold that many already, that's not bad for this store. He replied no, there were 23 for all the 25 TriValley stores. I laughed and said that's not a sale. That's less than one per store. That's why Rat Shack will always be a place I come to for fuses and swithes and not for much else. I did however order from the store and they will ship it to me for free. So that's not a bad deal. As I was in the store trying to get this drive, two more customers came in for the same thing. The three sales people told them get in line behind me. LOL.

By the way, This is definitely not a repost, since the timeframe is completely different along with the price because of the added 10.00 rebate.
