for the RS rebate, I have 3 receipts... the original one, and 2 instore duplicates he printed out for me...

Can I send the Duplicate receipt or should I send the non-duplicate "clean" receipt? It says for returns exchanges I need the original receipt, but it says send original receipt for the MIR....

Can the duplicate be used for returns and exchanges if I send the clean one in, or will they accept an official duplicate as the "original copy" ?

Keep your original copy. Use the duplicates for the rebates. If you dont have enough duplicates, copy the original receipt and mail that in w/ one of the rebates that says: original or photocopy of receipt. Just make sure you take your time and follow the intructions on the rebates or you wont get them back!

The duplicate should work fine for returns at Radio Shack. We print out several duplicates for customers sending in rebates and I always tell them to send in the original with the rebate.

Either way it should be fine though.

Just wanted to chime in that I got this drive, love it and sent in both rebates. If only the $20 one is valid, who cares--still a great deal. The additional $10 would just be icing on the cake.

A buddy got this drive without the white triangle on the package. It's got terrible transfer rates (worse then USB 1.1). My Sandisk 512mb Jump Drive Sport was 5+ times faster on write times

I just mine from direct2u! From what I've read on FW, they sent me the newer/faster one:

• The wording "Now includes trial..." on the top right of the front.
  
  "Made in China" clear sticker on the top right of the back

I picked one up on the 11th for myself and another for my brother in two separate purchases one after the other. They're both the later/faster version. I was given three slips for each purchase and told they were a receipt and two rebate forms for each purchase.

First Purchase
----------------
2 => Receipts (Both mention the $20 Rebate)
1 => $10 Rebate Form
0 => $20 Rebate Form

Second Purchase
-------------------
1 => Receipt (mentions the $20 Rebate)
1 => $10 Rebate Form
1 => $20 Rebate Form

I've got to go back to the store for a $20 rebate form.
If they can't generate it by my order # or by the rebate offer # I'll have to use the pdf form from the Internet. It's odd that I didn't get the $20 form when the $10 one is the one that everyone else has found to be a question. I guess slips don't print automatically. The salesman must have to "click" to print multiple receipts or a specific rebate form.

Thanks! I just got back from RS now. I was lucky for them to have 1 of them left. I went to a different store the first time and they had like 2 of the ones w/o the white triangles! Hopefully this is the faster model. I'll be testing it tonight! I should know if it is or not w/o testing it w/ Sandra. (I have to copy my homework over to it)

EDIT: They DO let you return them... as a matter of fact, they didn't even go through the return process. They just gave me the new one and took the old one with only a receipt inspection.

There is a white sticker on the upper right corner of the pkg that says "Now includes trial versions of CruzerSync and Cruzer PocketCache". Look for that before you buy if you are concerned about not getting an old drive.

I got a "white triangle" package and it is a dog! 1.33MB/sec. It's going back to RS. I don't have all day to wait for this thing to write a directory.

EDIT:

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I tried writing that same directory onto my 1GB Sandisk UltraII which is supposed to be 9Mb/sec. However, the 161 MB directory took 81 sec = 1.98 MB/sec!

I must be making a wrong assumption somewhere. Anyone venture to say what I've done wrong? I have a high-end USB 2.0 card in my system so I don't think that's the problem.

w/ one of those $10 off $40 coupons that are in the USPS Mover's booklet (for some locations) and those Entertainment Books, you could get it for $9.99 AR & AC.

got one from radio shack via their shipping directly to the customer free of charge program when they are out of stock. got the unit, with the white sticker. sent the $20 rebate in, thinking about NOT sending in the $10 coupon for a while as it does EXPLICITLY say: no good w/other offers. at least getting back the $20 is more important! losing the $10 is better than losing the $20!! what do you guys think? of course, i'll have to send the $10 coupon in soon, before the latest date indicated on the form, which i believe, if i remember correctly, is around 4/10. that give those Mesa, AZ guys 2 weeks to process the FIRST $20 coupon, and then receive my $10 second coupon. what a damn hassle for a lousy $10! oddly fun and satisfactory though... hee hee... thanks for you expected advice. cheers!

sounds like a system issue, try another PCI slot for your USB 2 card?

Someone mentioned the Cruzer Micro mp3 Companion. I'd like to have it, but since it seems it can't rapidly scroll through songs, folders are a must. How hard is it to navigate between folders? The first review on Amazon says something about it, but I'm not really sure what they're saying.
It also says the battery door is flimsy, and the unit freezes often.
