You managed to miss by far the biggest downside of RAID0: lose one disk in your set and all of your data is hosed. RAID0 is a bit of a misnomer in that it provides ZERO redundancy for your data.Originally posted by: ProsperoLT

I don't find them all that useful anymore, they just don't hold much. if I'm going to buy a new hd, its going to be 400-500gb
the longer you wait, the bigger it gets, the cheaper it becomes why buy now?
just so you know, that 400-500gb hard drive will have twice as long of a response time, you'd get FAR better speed out of a RAID array of 120's or 160's, than you would out of any hard drive over 250gb... the only downside is more power and more controllers needed
