This is killing me. I've been planning to buy a Seasonic X850, but with the X750 for $100 less, I'm wondering if I'm nuts to pass on it.

Would I be OK with 750W for an overclocked 2600K, single GTX580, SSD, 2x Hard disk, 16GB RAM?

You won't even come close to the capacity of the x750. I have a system with a similar power profile and hit 410w while gaming (BF3). That's less than 2/3 of the capacity of my x650. You'd likely be fine doing 580SLI on the x750.

An overclocked 2600k is one of the most power efficient CPUs of all time. That setup will easily run on an Antec, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, Enermax, Corsair, Fortron 500-520W power supply.

These are equally good deals that the Newegg ones (or maybe even better) - they are slighter newer tech (just an evolution of the design - nothing major).

Got my X650 in the other day and finally installed it. This was my first modular PSU, but that wound up not being as helpful as I'd imagined since my Lian Li already has such good cable management, that the insides don't look much different.

I think I also have the coil whine that has been reported on the unit. My wife actually noticed it first when she asked me why my computer was "chirping". I only hear it if I get close and listen, otherwise, even without headphones, I don't. I'm not 100% sure this is what it is, as I do have an old fan in the system, so a worn rotor or bearing might be making the noise, but she noticed it right after I installed the PSU so, coincidence? Not sure, doesn't bother me. 5 year warranty if anything happens.

The unit is very quiet and does power my system like a champ. Did some extra overclocking on my CPU and GPU now that I've got the breathing room again and everything is A-OK!
