Put myself down as a non tablet person, the only reason I could see myself buying one is for entertainment purposes and I don't really want to drop $500+ on that. Whenever I think about it I can think of a bunch of other things I'd rather buy instead of a tablet. If I took a train to work or travel a lot that would probably change but it seems pointless for me to get one right now.

I'll just say, as I said before the launch of the 4S, it does not actually matter what Apple launches tomorrow. Specs, pricing, name, features, none of it matters. It will sell millions, pre-orders will sell out, and people will line up to buy it regardless.

When you've revolutionized the PC, portable media player, digital music sales, smartphone, and tablet markets;
when you've spent the last 10 years releasing only polished, well-built, intuitive products with very few exceptions;
when you have a small product line that focuses on doing a few things really well;
when you refuse to make cheap, plastic-y, race-to-the-bottom junk in an attempt to fill every possible niche and price point. . .

. . . a funny thing happens: people actually get excited when you're about to announce a new product. It's amazing what a good reputation will do for your business.

If the 3rd Gen iPad comes with LTE, I hope to God that VZW and AT&T are ready for the new load. I don't want my cell data to drop into the toilet when this thing launches. We saw the iPhone overwhelm Sprint's 3G network, but it wasn't exactly robust to begin with.

Looks like Apple is pulling out all stops with the iPad3. Pretty much every rumor was true, including LTE. They also improved the IPS display by upping the saturation. This tablet is going to sell like crazy.

I'm psyched for the quad-core graphics. That means the A5X GPU will be on par with Playstation Vita. Tegra 3/Snapdragon S4 haven't even caught up with the A5's graphics yet, and now A5X will double that performance.

Unless they one more thing a 7" tablet, there're still plenty of reasons to buy an Android tablet, form-factor among them. No need to start with the doom prophet schtick, it's just going to start more flame wars.

What I mean is at the same $500 price point, why on earth would you buy an android tablet?

If they try and compete directly with the ipad they will fail. If they try and differentiate themselves (like the amazon (not android) tablet), then they can win.

for many of us theres no reason to buy any tablet
theres not a single thing the ipad 3 (or any tablet) does that makes me want to have it.
