I just got off the phone with CS and I asked if this was part of a promotion. He said they have been trying to "move" Lexmark products. I asked if Lexmark would honor the rebate and he said "they should". I made him say that twice. I think it's going to work. He would have canceled my order but I kept it alive at $289 (no tax). My current printer has a 2000 page toner cart and it costs $75. This one comes with a 6000 page toner cart and I am paying $289 if the rebate does not work. I figure its a good deal just based on replacement carts.

yeah its the shipping price. I am going to call them as well I got charged shipping.

I got in for one too last night and received the same emails.

Now I see on the Matter of Fax website that 'This printer is currently on back-order and will not ship for at least two weeks." and "This Item Is Discontinued. It is no longer available on our site."

My tracking info is still "Not yet available" and it has not shipped yet.

Has anyone received tracking info yet?

Unfortunately we are unable to fulfill your order for the Lexmark Printer.
There were only an extremely limited quantity available and we oversold far
quicker than anticipated. We worked very hard over the last few hours to
try and source the machines from other distributors, but were unsuccessful.
We are also negotiating with Lexmark to honor all the remaining orders that
we have, but frankly, we do not expect any positive results. If however, we
are successful we will contact you.

For now, your order will be cancelled and if your credit card was charged
you will be issued a prompt refund.

Called the customer service at 973-482-3700, she was very quick in telling me that this item was back ordered and I won't be receiving it for another 3 weeks and asked if I wanted to cancel. I said I can wait for it, and asked if the free shipping could be removed. She answered very quickly saying she would take care of it and hung up.

Now for the rebate offer, I believe Lexmark should honor this rebate since AMatterofFax did not state that the discount they are offering was using Lexmarks rebate offer. And the rebate form states that it "can not be combined with any other rebate or offer related to this Lexmark product" does this mean a lexmark offer or just any offer in general made by the resellers?

^^ wow sorry to hear you guys had your order cancelled. Hope my order still goes through, would love to ride this one out and get a free laser printer.

Just got off the phone after calling to have my shipping fee refunded, and the person stated that the printer is back ordered for two weeks, did I want to cancel. I said no, just take off the shipping, and they agreed to do that.

Now to see if I get the printer or if they try to wait two weeks to mail it.

Hmm, I just refreshed my email and I got the same cancellation message. I replied saying I can wait while its on back order. *shrug*

VIC " Great, at 600 bucks thats a good profit for us"
"um no, we sold them at 300"

I got curious and checked out some of the other retailers listed on the rebate form-- many make no mention of the deal on their web page, although none sells it at such a low price. Waiting for my axe to fall.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. Too good to be true, though. I have a feeling that certain people at A Matter of Fax were in the dark about the rebate until after the sale price was posted.

Anywho, as long as I get my money back it's no big deal.
