I was not cancelled yet. I ordered yesterday and it was fulfilled today at 9:14 AM. I hope I got in.

Mine went to the warehouse fairly early yesterday and I still got cancelled. Only a couple dozen people who ordered very early got the printers from what I was told.

Mine got cancelled as well. Im a little upset that they took the time to let us know they wont honor any rebates but didnt let us know they were oos.

THey should check and see the order status.
it'll most likely show cancelled.

I didn't receive any emails regarding the rebate or the pricing or cancellation.
I just checked my orderstatus on their site and It shows cancelled for me

They are obviously canceling to save their a$$es.

I placed order last night
had invoice this morning
charged at 10:30 this morning
warned about rebate at 12 noon
they canceled order at 3:30

Lets assume their cost on this printer is $400. If so, they would be loosing $100 per order on approximately 300 printers (who knows how many??). Resulting in a total loss of $30k ...... and Victor wetting his pants.

I wonder how their reseller ratings will hold out. It may have been worth the loss to keep the reseller ratings so high. I have sympathy for Victor and Ed (Ed is the salesman on my order and likely the lackey that set the wrong price)

To everyone who has gotten their order cancelled, has your card been creditied the money yet or are they still holding onto it. Mine was cancelled around 3 and they still haven't reversed the charges, but i'm not really worried about having any problems with that. It's a debit card by the way.

How do you know people who ordered after you are going to receive the printer?

mine got cancelled as well, understandably. All ads, be it newpaper, mags or internet, carry that "not responsible for typographical or clerical error" policy. Even though a lot of customers get pissed off, the retailer is not going to eat the loss. Same thing happened at the Egg awhile back, people got an apology and some discount for future purchase. As the saying goes, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is." No need to huff and puff about it.

I don't understand why the e-mail about not being responsible for the manufacturers rebate. Why would they send that?

perhaps they were trying to pursuade people to cancel their orders, even though retailers are not responsible for manufacturer's rebates anyway.

I got the receipt email soon after ordering, and got this email this afternoon:
Hello,

This is an automated message from A Matter of Fax:

On Apr 11 2007 9:11AM, your credit card information for Invoice# (#####) was
verified by our system.
Your order has been moved to fulfillment. Your tracking information will be
emailed to you when it becomes available from the warehouse.

Customer Service

Nothing else. No cancellation email, no "we aren't responsible for the rebate" email, nothing. Maybe I slipped through the cracks?

check your order status online and you will see that it's been cancelled. This a.m. my order was being sent to the warehouse; by late afternoon it was cancelled, without any e-mail notification of the cancellation.

Yup, you're right

Oh well, I suppose cancelled is better than it arriving, and then the rebate not working for whatever reason.

Still no cancellation email and the order status doesn't mention a cancellation either. However, also still no tracking number. I expect the cancellation soon.
