Well, the facts show that if there is a problem with an order they will:

-try to trick you. (the rebate email)
-or lie - the fault is not ours, you people tried to order too many.

Instead of just telling the truth, that it was a pricing error, and be done with it, as all the other venders do. Gives one some idea as to how they do business. I don't expect them to honor a pricing error, but I do expect honesty.

Nope, they are still sitting on my money, though my order isn't "cancelled" in their system yet either (but I did get the "Your order is cancelled" email)

still waiting for the cancellation email.. Order status still shows it is still at step 4 "at the warehouse" but no Tracking number or shipped status. Also, no charge to credit card.

Check your junk mail folder. I got a couple initial emails in my inbox, but a couple others went straight to junk mail for some reason, including the cancellation email.

I gave these guys a call to ask about the order, and talked for a while to one of their CSRs. We had a civil conversation about what exactly was going on in the back end, and it sounds like Lexmark is trying to increase the price of printers that were already promised to resellers. They had a meeting today about the issue, and they're trying to fulfill all of the orders that they can using the printers that they physically have in their warehouses at the sale price, but Lexmark doesn't want to let them (for obvious reasons).

I know that a CSR isn't a 100% reliable source of information, but it sounds like it could well be Lexmark's fault on this one. Don't be too brutal with those ratings, guys.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. no cancellation email, order status at step 4, no tracking or charge to CC.

Even if it was lexmarks fault, they did not fully communicate the situation to us. Not only that, i give the benefit of the doubt, if they had not charged my card. Once you charge me, you had better stand by what you are selling, and if not, you had better by damn honest about whats going on and get my money back ASAP.

I am still awaiting a cancellation also. I am also at 'Step 4' (At the Warehouse). The tracking screen shows a Qty Shipped as 1, but no FEDEX tracking number and under the 'Shipped' column it states: 'Not Yet". My CC has been charged.

Yeah I checked my junk mail folder too and nothing, however I found the email from victor regarding the rebate is not their responsibility, etc.

I have been charged and no refund yet. Normally I dont bomb companies at resellerratings but in this case I just may have to.

I have no problem with the printer being oos
I have no problem with my order being cancelled
I DO have a problem when I get charged despite the prior two conditions.
I DO have a problem when I do not get my money back as fast as it was charged.

I still haven't received my refund yet either which is definitely getting a little later than it shuold. Hopefully it'll get here soon.

In response to Lexmark, it's sad that a company has so much clout over the retailers. It should be the other way around. The company requires the retailers to advertise and market them. When I worked at Best Buy we used to slam Lexmark and tell the customer to not even bother. They sold horrific printers and the ink was always absurdly higher than the others. I see they've done a lot to improve their image since then...

The consumer level printers sold at BB and the printer from this thread are two different stories altogether.

OK, here is the latest on mine:

No cancellation email.
I got the email from victor saying that they are not responsible if I don't get my rebate.
The charge JUST TODAY started showing up on my credit card, the charge had a post date of apr 11.
All steps completed, sitting at warehouse, no shipping info yet.

They charged me 26 bucks for shipping. I'm going to see if it will ride out and not complain about shipping until AFTER i get a shipping number, then see if they will refund my $$ for shipping.

This company has had your email addreses for 3 days. How long does it take to compose/send a group email explaining the situation? 10 minutes, at the most?

Ok, here is my conspiracy theory. Why would A Matter Of Fax be charging CC for equipment they can not supply? Are they using our CC for a short term loan to make their bottom line look better to say for example ... get a better business loan.... purchase additional stock of whatever.... pay for a night on the town... gambeling debt..... mob payment... Ok Im getting carried away
