I used to work as a buyer for a department store... if they set prices the way we did, the person that screwed up that price makes a lot more then minimum wage... and is definitely getting his/her butt chewed.

It happens all the time, the worst is when it happens over the weekend and things get sold for extra 50% off for three days straight. It can screw your numbers for the season.

I have been in contact with Microcenter's customer service regarding the in-store pickups not receiving the benefit of the backorder, here is what they had to say after some haggling:

"We are currently in process of making a decision whether or not we will be able to honor the $149.99 price for existing order. We will notify our customers via email once the decision has been made."


Please update this thread if they honor your online order.

Yea, pretty doubtful that they actually are, though.

I ordered last night and mine was cancelled this morning, also. Oh well, I never really expect these types of deals to go through. In the old days these price mistakes used to always generate a hundred calls for lawsuits. At least it seems we've gotten past that as an online community.
