Well my panel arrived today. I was really afraid at first, but after looking it is the SMG LTM190EX V4T05.

Thats some great news @lukeb. Hopefully, I can get an exchange that will come in as the same Samsung model. That way, both of em display the same.

I'm still trying to get Dell to swap out the lower-spec AUO panel I got. After 3 emails and over 2 hours talking to 8 people (actually 6 different ones and two repeats) I'm still no closer. Each know-nothing transfers me to yet another know-nothing and not one gets it. After those 2 hours my phone line simply went dead. I haven't had the stamina to try again, yet. Maybe tomorrow. I didn't believe all the rants on resellerratings about Dell - I'd had good experience before. Now.... I'm a believer. The most inept and dysfunctional cust serv going.

Okay. Got a hold of my sales rep. She couldn't order another w/ the same price (~$219+tax) so she forwarded me to Customer Care. Got patched to probably the call-center in India. It went well. Got the exchange w/ a new order #.

So I checked my Dell account just to see the update, as well as to give an update to my sales rep. It seems that the CSR purchased the order at $339 ($368.67 w/ tax). I freaked out too early regarding the price. So I emailed my sales rep as well as the CSR to just have some kind of assurance that this will be credited back to my CC once they get the AUO that I'm exchanging for...

So for those that have done the exchange, is this what happened to you as well and gotten credit back?

TIA

Why are you guys getting pissed off about the AUO panels

Its a game that you shall play

Does dell come with a 21 day policy you can exchange for a new panel for any reason... or is that for 2005fpw+ only?

? AUO panels aren't up to the specs that Dell listed on their site. Seems like a valid reason to get an exchange.

Has anyone received a Samsung from "NASHVILLE, TN"? Just wondering, my "replacement" is coming in today supposedly from there. TIA

Got my replacement. Samsung. But got a couple of "stuck" and dead-pixels. The "stuck" pixels are on the right-center--kinda annoying.

Anyways, for those that have successfully got an exchange... I am trying to send back the AUO panel. The directions that Dell gave for returns is quite confusing. Its asking for a 9-digit code supposedly under the bar codes of the label, on the box, to be used as the "reference" number for the return label.

However, there's only two codes that I see in that area. One, is the "order" number which is 9-digits. The other, is 10-digits. Am I to assume that its the "order" number they wanted? Reason I'm asking is because they would've stated "order" number on the directions in that particular step in the first place.

Please do let me know... Thanks.

PS. For those that have a stuck/dead pixel(s), have you tried any methods (found through google) that worked successfully?

Does the Samsung panel look better than the AUO? If not, then I would keep the AUO without the dead pixel.

AUO viewing angle is crap. Also, as you go down the bottom of the screen it gets a lot lighter. Still feeling the same about the AUO w/ that info?

Five emails, two hours on the phone, a chat session, and another email to a supervisor and still no resolution.
