coupla questions:

1. If one wants to buy 2 of these monitors, do you have to make 2 separate purchases, each time using a coupon? Or can you buy them together and apply 2 coupons?

2. Will these monitors be obsolete when HDTV comes in? Since I'm not into gaming or watching DVDs on the computer, will I get a few years' use out of these? LOL

for the doubters out there...

i ordered my 1907FP last week (3/29/2006) and just received it, it IS in fact a Samsung panel, not the AUO people "claim" is in it because of the poor viewing angles.

here's more information regarding the panel in the 1907FPt I received:

Samsung LTM190EX Panel
http://www.samsung.com/Products/TFTLCD/...ors_n_Industrial/LTM190EX/LTM190EX.htm

I read everywhere that these are 6-bit AUO panels, but all the people that stated they were 6-bit only stated the poor viewing angles as a good assumption it was 6-bit, I can assure you it's 700:1 or higher panel and it's the Samsung panel with 16.7M colors and as far as I can tell 170' viewing angle not the 140' Dell put on their website. My Dell Part number that was on my box was - DP/N: 0DC323

1) yes, that's what I did
2) This monitor doesn't do HDTV resolution anyhow.

Nice job man! I just received mine, but it's still in the box. I'll check it out this weekend.

Edit: If it is in fact that panel, Samsung shows it as having a 1000:1 contrast ratio! :Q Nice!

Go HERE and pull up the Dell 1907. It shows it as being a TN 6-bit panel. Although if that would be ok for your needs, it is a nice monitor for the money. I didn't see anything on the Dell site that says how many colors it reproduces.

well they must have come a long ways, because i've NEVER seen a 6-bit panel with these stats before:

Number of Colors
16.7M

Contrast Ratio(typ.)
1,000:1

Brightness(cd/m2)
300

Response Time(ms at 25°C)
5(on/off)

Viewing Angle(U/D/L/R)
80/80/80/80 (equivalent to 160'H/160'V)

there's NO mistaking that I have a samsung in my LCD and I just bought it last week, so maybe there are two batches out there, and there's a good chance that german site got an AUO model... i'm just stating what i know to be fact.

don't forget, information is only as good as it's source.

Obviously you cannot read well as there are 2 panels related to the 1907FP model.
Just because you received the Samsung panel doesn't mean ALL of them are going to be Samsung panels.
Still a good chance many are going to receive the AUO panel...

Just because you received the Samsung panel doesn't mean ALL of them are going to be Samsung panels. Still a good chance many are going to receive the AUO panel...

obviously you can't read. #1, the two models listed were (b)black and (s) silver, yes they listed different contrast ratios but neither stats matched the samsung panel that's in my 1907FP, that kind of invalidates the accuracy of their information. #2 nowhere on their site could i find where they received their information from. yes the model information may be right for the AUO model, but not listing the samsung model at all is not what i call complete information. #3 it's a german site, i purchased my 1907FP from Dell US, not in germany so what makes you believe that everyone in the US is going to get the same panel as in other countries?

it seems it is a 6-bit panel, but a bit confused since samsung's site claims it has 16.7M colors, the improved viewing angles and high contrast. here's an anandtech review on the LTM190EX panel that's in the samsung 915N as well as the Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+
http://www.anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=2428&p=8

i'm not saying everyone will get an AUO model, but since I JUST received a 1907fp that's a samsung, i think it's safe to say that they haven't stopped shipping the samsung panel, which most people seem to believe.

btw, here's some more info on my order, it was shipped from Dell's NASHVILLE, TN, US site on 4/1/2006, in case anyone else get's one from the same distro center, i'd be interested in which panel you receive.

how to find out which panel you have:
1) turn the monitor off
2) press 'menu' and '+' buttons simutaneously
3) while pressing menu and +, turn the power back on
4) release the menu and + button
5) enter the OSD menu and go to factory -> factory and it will display the panel information.

How do you get the lower price??The price I see is $294.4!
Take into accout a $35 coupon and tax the total works out to $275 - not a good deal for me
Is there some catch that I am missing or is the deal over?

Are you retarded or just horsing around?
Stop fvcking around and read what I posted.
I said there are 2 panels that go with the Dell 1907FP and they are AUO and Samsung.
I read your previous post and it strongly implied ALL 1907FP LCD panels are Samsung.
Let me quote you again.
"for the doubters out there...
i ordered my 1907FP last week (3/29/2006) and just received it, it IS in fact a Samsung panel"
I can assure you it's 700:1 or higher panel and it's the Samsung panel with 16.7M colors"
Blah Blah Blah.

We all already freaking know people are getting AUO and Samsung panels on a regular basis.
Other forums have the same results where person A,B, and C get an AUO panel and D gets a Samsung etc.

I don't get why you replied to my post as it plainly disagreed with your post about implying all 1907FP LCD have Samsung panels which is COMPLETELY wrong.

Stop embarrasing yourself and read before you post.

In for 2 of them @ $255.99 (including tax, free shipping) each in NYC. Thanks for the help on this deal. I have saved so much $$ from threads like this in this forum. Of course, I'd have saved even more $$ if I never found this website! LOL

I tried that, but I don't get "factory", only factory reset option in the menu. Tried messing around with the buttons and managed to lock myself out. I tried turning off and unplugging the monitor and plugged it back in, but cannot access the OSD menu.

Can somebody please tell me how do I get rid of the lock icon that now appears when I press the menu button?

btw, up at the top of the OSD (when I could view it) it had "smg" to the left and "V4T05" to the right of 1907fp. I received the lcd yesterday, shipped from austin, part nbr DP/N ODC323

well the monitor is on sale right now for $271. 35 off 300 coupon can be found on ebay and you subtract 35 from the original price but since the monitor is on sale its subtracting from the sale price which would be 271 - 35 = $236 w/o tax. With tax(depending on where you live) will make it go up to 250-260.

i have another friend that received a 1907FPc LTM 190EXL21 V4C06, that's 4 monitors now that have ended up with a samsung panel in the US, anyone receive an AUO panel yet?

Trikat i was referring to the site cockeyd posted, thought it was the where you were getting your 2 models information from, i have seen other people post in other forums that stated they received the AUO panel (and i'm sure it exists) but I haven't seen any evidence of one.

in reference to my original post i was not trying to imply that all were samsung panels, but moreso to the "doubters" that say that they no longer ship the samsung panel, there are a lot of people that are led to believe that they changed panels to the AUO and that 1907fp's with samsung panels don't exist anymore, which isn't true.

it should be mentioned that when you are checking your LCD model # in the OSD it helps to have your computer connected to the monitor so there is a video input, else you'll just get a test pattern

not trying to mislead anyone, i just think this is a great deal for a great monitor, and there's evidence to support it.

This deal is extremely tempting, but I think I'm going to wait for the 2005FPW to have a huge sale.

A friend purchased the 1907 last night, and I'll post back here which panel he receives.
