Trikat i was referring to the site cockeyd posted, thought it was the where you were getting your 2 models information from, i have seen other people post in other forums that stated they received the AUO panel (and i'm sure it exists) but I haven't seen any evidence of one.

in reference to my original post i was not trying to imply that all were samsung panels, but moreso to the "doubters" that say that they no longer ship the samsung panel, there are a lot of people that are led to believe that they changed panels to the AUO and that 1907fp's with samsung panels don't exist anymore, which isn't true.

it should be mentioned that when you are checking your LCD model # in the OSD it helps to have your computer connected to the monitor so there is a video input, else you'll just get a test pattern

not trying to mislead anyone, i just think this is a great deal for a great monitor, and there's evidence to support it.

It seems like a turn around as before it used to be the Samsung panels were rarer than AUO panels (according to other forums). If you friends received theirs from the same TN warehouse such as you and I, then I guess we can safely assume 1907FP from TN will most likely be Samsung panels. Also the other strange thing is the "new revision" for the Samsung panel.
1907FPc LTM 190EXL21 V4C06 is not what some others are receiving. They are receiving 1907FPt LTM 190EXL** **** where the stars are different numbers or letters.
I guess it doesn't matter as it is still a Samsung panel.

Unfortunately I also learned this is the "same" panel (LTM190EX) as the ViewSonic L90D+ which is a decent gaming LCD. The downfall is the response time curve is much higher than 8ms.
http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/02/15/8ms_19/page2.html
"the worst latency measurement we got on this Samsung 190EX-L01 panel was 27.5ms"(The L90D+ LCD has overdrive which can make it slightly faster. If used wrong as in most cases, it will make the response time curve rise and dip too much.)
So this panel would have been the best panel a little over a year ago. If you wanted the fastest LCD out now check out the ViewSonic VX922. Consistant super slow response time. http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/03/27/...spring_2006_lcd_collection/page33.html
Doesn't do that well in everything else though.

Ditto: Received My panel today and it's a Samsung. ( smg V4T05 ).
It shipped from Austin, North to Waco, then back south to here in San Antonio.
My only compliant so far ... it didn't come with a icey/hot patch.
Man, my ole Hitachi 21" CRT is sure heavey!

Not to be a smart arse but I will have my new VX922 in a few days and even without ever owning a LCD but doing much research, it looks as if my decision was the right one. After all said and done the 100.00 extra I paid for my VX922 will be well worth it

Got my 1907FP in two days, got it set up yesterday evening (before the storms). It looks great, I'm having trouble doing the OSD thing to determine what panel I have, but it's not important to me anyway.

Just thrilled to have some recent technology going on here.

Thanks OP.

I ordered the 1907FP also.. Received the AUO panel..

Question for those who have the Samsung:
I'd like to keep the panel in the Portrait mode.. However with this AUO, there is a Left to Right Gradient (Lighter to Darker) (when in Portrait Mode) presumably from the limited viewing angle of the panel.. Does the Samsung also have this effect?

My four are all coming from the Waco sort facility in Texas. I just hope they are all the same. Anyone else get Samsung panel's from Waco?

Got one for my parents. Hate to ask stupid question what is the reference to Samsung and AUO panels? What is the advantage of one over the other? How do I tell which one I get?

I ordered my 1907fp on Monday. It shipped from their Texas site. I'm assuming their Nashville site is out of 1907fp's because I'm only 3 hours from their Nashville warehouse.
I got a Samsung panel. The viewing angle isn't perfect, but it is more than acceptable.

I game alot. I haven't noticed any ghosting. Like others have said, it is a little red at first, but it only takes a second to turn the red down a notch. They should have fixed the red levels at the factory, though. It's bright, but the black levels in F.E.A.R. seem dark enough to me.

I have a friend with a 1905fp and he gets ghosting, though it doesn't bother him much. It seems to me this is a good buy. I'd be surprised if you can get a better panel for the same price. Of course, maybe the AUO panels suck.

Text seems a little sharp, but XP does a crappy job of rendering fonts, anyway. Hopefully Vista will be more on par with OS X.

Got a Samsung LTM190EX v4t05 as well.

As others have said, its pretty red. Had to tone it down a bit. Have it sitting next to my Samsung 191t+. Two monitors are nice...

EDIT: was shipped from Austin TX

the Samsung is supposed to have better viewing angles, better color reproduction, and better contrast than the AUO...

this panel is also supposed to be good for gaming since both panels are apparantly 6-bit, though the Samsung seems to be a newer generation of 6-bit, it typically means lower response times which greatly reduce ghosting found in the 8-bit 1905fp

Hey know what's cool. Because of my 1907fp purchase, I got a e-mail from Dell today with a $35 of $300 coupon code.

How's that?

Has anyone else who bought this monitor had positive gaming experiences?

I received the 1907fp with the samsung panel... I haven?t done a lot of gaming yet, but so far its performed pretty awesome. I?ve played a few source games and didn?t notice any ghosting. I also have an xbox360 with vga cable and the games on that also looked perfect without any ghosting.
