Mine arrived yesterday "Samsung. 1907FPt SmgLTM190EX V4T05"

Thing is it has 1 dead pixel and pretty noticeable. This is my first LCD should I not worry about it or it common on LCD screens. So how many dead pixels would someone say I'm sending it back just curious. Also I only had about 5 minutes to work with the LCD after setting it up had to go. Is there any free software to run a test for dead pixels?

Is there any free software to run a test for dead pixels?


just put on a totally white screen, changing your windows background to just white works well. change it to white and comb over every inch with your eyes.

I don't know what all the fuss is. This monitor is average imo. I got two Samsung panels as well. Terrible viewing angle and color/contrast is just so-so.. For the price, the fact u get a DVI cable, and the well functioning stand(but flimsy) make it a good deal but not that spectacular.

Interesting. DHL just left it on my doorstep (Austin TX). Same thing with the monitor I ordered last week.

is that good or bad?!

played a lot of games on Steam and didn't really see any ghosting. Very clear and was a nice step up from my 17" Samsung 172x. I lowered my brightness to 30.

Update: Although now that I think about it, I think the ebay one expired on the 19th.

I've been lurking on this forum for a few weeks. My Viewsonic vp191s got damaged when my apt got broken into in Feb. Been looking to replace it since. I was going to splurge for a 24" widescreen, but I don't want to buy a new video card, plus I'd like to wait until the whole HDCP stuff pans out. Anyways....

I jumped on this deal so I'd have a display for a couple years until I get a widescreen. I got the SMGLTM190EX V4T05 panel. Looks alright, little backlight comes through on the top, and some more bleeding around the edges. The viewing angle isn't all that either. Contrast is better than the vp191. This'll do I suppose, especially for only $250 shipped to GA. Ordered on Monday, got it today.

If anyone wants to buy a broken vp191 PM me. Got hit in the middle with a screwdriver and then dropped. =)

edit: nevermind.. they're too stupid. Aparantly their PC comprehension is about the same level as my mom's. =P

oh well, im fine with the AUO. It's really not all that bad, VERY minor ghosting (to the point that you have to TRY to find it in order to see it). Besides, what more can I ask from a $255 monitor?

2nd edit: well they called me back and they gave the exchange an OK.. I'll let you know which 2nd LCD i get when it comes

You should be able to without any problems. I do that with my 2005fp.

I haven't seen anyone mention these specifications before.

I ordered two (one for me and my wife) and got one of each. We replaced are old 19? CRT?s with the Dell 1907FP to save room. We play lots of games with NO Ghosting at all, great monitors.


Does anyone know what the difference between the two are?
