Even though I was fortunate to get the Samsung panel, I seethe knowing Dell is shipping products that are below their listed specifications. Dell got to be #1 by selling cheaper than everyone else, but also giving decent bang for the buck. Their customer service used to mean customer service. Shipping below spec products is the equivalent of the old scam of selling thousand dollar speakers for 200.00 out of the back of a van at a gas station. Open the cabinet and what you got aint what they said you were getting. Some State Attorneys General should inquire into this practice.

HAHA right on. And yes, everyone should get what they have paid for. Its just common sense and good business.

PS. No replies yet since sending the "wrong product" message to Dell. I'll keep y'all updated.

I haven't ordered this from Dell. But I have dealt with their customer support the past couple of weeks because of Dell screw ups and let's just say my head and the wall have become intimate after dealing with the farmed out customer/tech support. Dell sucks if you have to deal with them on the phone. Period.

I've had two days now with the pair of monitors (Samsung LCDs) and I'm pretty satisfied. As far as I can tell there are no dead pixels and image quality is good. They are much too bright by default though.

I have found one irritating quirk. If either of the monitors is hooked up to the DVI of the video card (Gainward nVidia Ti4400), when it goes into standby the backlight will come on for a few seconds a couple of times a minute. Both monitors do this on the DVI. They stay blanked when hooked up to the video card's D-SUB connector though.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to determine if it's the fault of the video card.

This *might* be old news, but Dell 1907FPs are being shipped in different flavors.

Everyone knows about the Sammy and AUO panels, but LG/Philips has been added to the mix...

Here's the way it stands right now:

Samsung LTM190EX
http://www.samsung.com/Products/TFTLCD/...ors_n_Industrial/LTM190EX/LTM190EX.htm

AUO M190EN04
http://www.auo.com/auoDEV/products.php?...tor&func=info&product_id=62&items_id=1

LG/Philips LM190E03
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4996/lglm190e03pic6ey.jpg

I've put them together in a single graphic, in case the links above go stale...
http://www.lenon.com/images/1907FP_Panels.png

Everybody seems to prefer the Sammy panel, but AUO 'reviews' have been favorable as well (specifications aside). However, several LG owners have reported severe backlight bleeding problems...

Has anyone received a 1907FP with something other than these three panels?

Anyone?
My understanding is the LTM190EXL21 is a variation on the Samsung LTM190EX panel -- same specs, just a different manufacturing run...

So I called again, to no avail. Then replied to the Customer Care email I got w/ the following...

---
Neo (or whoever it might be),

That extension loops back to main. It doesn't get me any where useful. I spoke w/ "April" and got a case #XXXXXXXXX. She then tried to forward/transfer me BACK TO Customer Care, and that was a bust. Now, I would leave the faith of this issue back on whose ever hands is reading this.

I have submitted the WRONG ORDER to Customer care on "4/27/2006 6:42:16 PM" only to get a reply back on "Saturday, April 29, 2006 6:48 AM". That is more than the ethical one-day for a business-to-consumer reply. On top of that, I received a product whose technical specification doesn't match the one on your site (read below for details). Now that, is simply "false advertisement"--a grave business practice.

I am giving Dell a chance and the benefit-of-the-doubt to correct this issue like a great business should do. Please do prove it... I will try to call the number "April" have given me, as well as the one listed below on your previous email.

A swift reply and positive action on your part would be great and appreciated.

A very, very concerned customer...

Well, I haven't had any luck with the replacement.
Although I did get an email today how Dell went ahead and setup a pickup of the AUO monitor, but they haven't mentioned anything regarding a shippment of another panel. They are using the REFUND word too much and I specifically have said it is a WRONG ITEM and gave links and references of what monitor is should be, but from the email responses I am receiving, it has led me to believe these guys working at DELL are a bunch of idiots who can't comprehend the difference between WRONG ITEM shipped to me wanting a FULL REFUND.

More than likely I am just going to tell them to forget the whole thing and just leave me alone with the panel (again, the AUO panel is not too shabby)

Yeah, If I had gotten a bunch of trouble with the exchange I would probably have kept the AUO as well. Like I said. It looked pretty good, just didn't meet the specs.

I think it is still well worth the money even for the AUO.

UPS driver arrived at my house yestarday to pickup my panel.
This is from DELL not having my "approval" (i never said ok with the pickup or acknowledged it, they just set it up)
Also, the DELL rep I spoke to made NO reply on the exchange of the new panel, rather the emails I received mentioned too many CREDIT words, so when the UPS driver arrived I had to refuse him and tell him that I canceled the pickup.

Last time I try something like this again. Thanks anyways

I'd like one of these, my CRT died 2 days ago, using an older one now and it hurts my eyes. Do I understand this correctly, I have to go to ebay buy a coupon then use it on the monitor right?

afaik, that coupon expired back on the 26 or 27th, either case, I think you'll be assed out in terms of that -$35 off

You don't have to buy the coupon. I "caught" the code just by Googling "Dell 1907 coupon". The code is posted on some deal forums.

Count your blessings that you didn't buy it; this is one awful monitor...I have the AUO panel and it is blu-ish...and you can't color adjust it...and you get India help in Home and Garden Dell; I thought I ordered in SB...guess not...they agreed it's not in the buyer's specification, but since I bought it on line, I guess they must think it's defacto in- specification so it's my problem to get it back to Dell and then he had the gall to tell me to re-order it.

wowsers... luckily got it on Dell SB. Gonna give my sales rep. a call for a possible exchange. Its just doesn't make sense for the "US_CAG_Customer_Care" to call 3 different 1-800s numbers when they coulda just told me to speak with my SB rep. Anyways, great deal if you get the Samsung and AUO only if through SB (as in whitney's scenario)...

I bought 2 for my dual setup. I got one AUO and one Samsung.

$225 shipped each.

I only got them last night so haven't done much testing yet but they both seem OK, I played some HL2 and doom3 on the AUO and didn't notice any ghosting. And this is coming from using 2 high end CRTs @ 100hz.
Tonight I will test the samsung in gaming and see if I notice any difference.

The viewing angle on both seems to be about the same, which is pretty decent imo considering all the bad feedback I have herd about with that on these displays.

And these things are BRIGHT, I have the AUO at 2% brightness and the samsung at like 4%.
And also I lowered the gama on my 7800GT to about 77% ,,, everything was blown out white before that.

Original price is $339 - 30% off select LCDs = $237.30 - $35 off 300 coupon = 202.30 before tax

(With tax it came to $219 for me)

The 30% off select printer, monitors (1907FP & 2405 FPW), and Axim handheld coupon is out on eBay (not from me) for about a dollar.

The $35 off $300 coupon code is readily available at several places

That seems like the best deal to date on the 1907FP, right?
