I just called, and my order was on hold for some reason... It finally cleared and said they would be shipping it today... whoohoo! my 9800 Pro served me well, but it was getting a little long in the tooth...

I knew I should have held off on this. I have sworn off mail-in rebates, but no I thought this would be smooth. Granted, I have not received the card to even try the rebate, but I hate it that Outpost might hold off ordering new inventory to cause the back orders to miss the mail-in date for the rebate. If it goes longer than a week, then I think I'll probably cancel the order.

Update:
Just called Outpost (877-688-7678) and spoke with Jeff. He said they won't know any new information about when they will be in stock again until this Friday. Hope that helps.

Yes, it's just a white box with two large black and white labels on the folding top. My static bag was also resealed, as was mentioned earlier. From what I've read before, the white box is standard issue.

what were your old marks ?
I used the 2003 test and i went up 4,000 points from a ti4200 and that was with a GT OC fro BFG
games i could not run over 20fps at high res were 'fixed' and play great now with everythng 'on' and even at 1600 it's playable

what was best was the shader so added to my games, especially Halo as shader 1.2 on the old card did not show many effects that were in the game
I am sure all other games were doing the same

I did use the built in test for overclocking
Forgot what util I used to enable that, hum, oh

rivatuner does a lot of things including a option to show the core temp in the system tray for you to see

If it will get through the "mother nature" portion of 3DMark03 without artifacts, it is probably good, IF you can keep it cool enough under sustained load. The quality of your power supply may limit it, also.

my 3dmark03 score was 11k something, up from 6k+ in the 9800xt. i didnt see any artifacting.

btw im using an antec 430, with p4 2.4b, 1gb ram, 3hd, audigy, tv card, dvdrw, and this thing is running along just fine!

I forgot that you were asking for an OC tool. I use the standard "coolbits" menu add-on. Here's a link for a new one called "nVHardpage" (I haven't tried it yet):

If you don't like that one, I can email you the latest "coolbits" registry fix, which gives you all of the menus with latest drivers (some don't).

I just ordered mine today (Tuesday afternoon PST 2/8/05) via phone (1-877-outpost) just mention item# 4082632; sure the card is on backorder but you don't have to have the rebate post marked until 3/10/05!!! So I get the card in the mail in a week or two WHAT'S THE BF DEAL??? I've got a BFG 6800 OC softmodded 16 pipes to keep me till my ultra arrives. Hurry deal ends midnight 2/10/05!!!!

Mine was placed on back order as well so I just went a head and canceled the whole thing. I called Frys and they had no ETA on the cards, and didn't want to risk loosing the $50 rebate. Damnit, cause this was a blazing deal and should have worked out. Frys can be a bunch of dicks too, and I surely don't want to fight with them about rebates.

I called tonight and the guy said that it has been 33 days since they've gotten a shipment in from BFG, when they usually get a new shipment every 30 days. He said there was no way that it would be until march until I got my card, and probably would get it by the end of this week or beginning of next week (I overnighted it).

I really hope you do get it, but I wouldn't be suprised if that guy was speaking from his ass. Outpost has been known to jack people over royally. One of my buddies was charged $33 for a modem because when he returned it, he forgot to twist the phone cord with a twisty tie. They wouldn't ship it back to him or anything, just continued to charge him.

I have a strong feeling that a lot of people are going to be paying the extra $50, but regardless, its still a good deal, if you ever get your cards.

I just got my card today. DHL left me a note yesterday and I wasn't home. They wouldn't leave it on my front door. BASTARD! I ordered it Friday 8PM EST at work and got home at 9 to find out it was reduced! The CS guy said it didn't ship out yet and adjusted the price for me. Like some of the posters have mentioned, their shipping deal is top rate. I went the cheapest way and it only took 4 days to Jersey (2 dollars is 2 dollers, besides I was in no hurry).

Thanks so much NFS4! I was shopping for a card for a month and my patience paid off! I was gonna settle for the 6800oc.

This thing is a monster...so yes...yes you should have a pretty decent PSU before going this route...

Also, make sure your case is big enough since it's a pretty long card. I had to relocate my hard drive cage just to get my 6800 in (it's not the ultra but they're both the same length)

And you'll need some free molex connectors of course.

I have one of those ever popular Chieftec/Antec style cases, so it's not that I have some cramped case, this video card is huge.
