wait, it's already obsolete but I am not buying a new MB any time soon, nor CPU or RAM. THis was custom built and I think I am done on this one until it can't runthe next gen of games

lol, I can't really see a good profit out of this at all, since he's making about $5 per card if he sells them on ebay at $450 (going with a 10% drop in profits due to fees from ebay and Paypal).

Although I guess if you sell 77 that's 77*5 lol.

430 True Power Specs

I'm running my eVGA Ultra with a 350watt Antec Smart Blue PSU, and I have had it @425/1200 no problems, though I usually keep it 400/1100. An Antec 430watt should be just fine

Well it also depends on what else your system has in it obviously =p
Maybe he has like 4 hard drives and 3 optical drives and a really power-hungry CPU.

They changed the power requirements to 350 watts, from obviously a quality power supply. 18A minimum on the 12V rail, and 20 recommended. Obviously if you're already pushing that, you might have some problems. I have an article about it around here somewhere... but BFG just decided to keep the 480 watt requirement, or maybe were too lazy to change it, shrug.

One of my DVI ports blinks when I open Outlook/firefox/trillian. The other one doesnt. At first I considered it a power issue (ttgi 450w), but the fact that the card runs fine with one dvi port concerns me and not the other. Has anyone else had this problem?

i hear that the deal was given ebcause they had 300 to move and probably didn't expect the response. Plus that typo on the price didn't help when added to the cart. they prob ate the profit with that mistake but I am surely wrong.

For those who do not mind the regular 6800, but in a PCI-express factor AND live in San Diego, you can pick it up at Microtron for $195. It's not bad for a nForce SLI setup.

I just called and spoke to Ryan. Nice guy, very courteous. He actually thought I was someone else and already knew to mention the BFG card before I brought up my name or order number. He said there were around 160 orders needing to be filled I think and they don't know anything specific about restocking. He said they are noticing changes in the database for that product and that the price will be going up to $499 for orders placed from now on. He said to call back if it has not shipped by this time next week.

Dont hold your breath, most Ultras hit 440/1140 +/- a few mhz....ive had 2 so far and the latest one can barely do 435/1135. The good news is even if your Ultra did 470/1250 it would only translate to a few FPS for games..absolutely no way you could tell the difference.

I've tried mine in both my machines, and it won't do more than about 430/1130 in either, with AGP running in spec. I have an Antec True control 550 psu in one and a Fortron Blue Storm 500 in the other. It wasn't stable at 425 core with my K8V SE board running 215 HTT (was okay at 400 core), but 425 core was stable at 210 HTT (no PCI/AGP lock).

I tried different molex combinations, no fans etc., and those didn't seem to have any positive or negative effect. I'm happy running it at defaults for $350.

I got mine but haven't OCed it yet. It was kinda an impulse buy that I regret even though it was a good deal. My 9800 pro never had any problems playing the stuff I play =/.

Some D3D games run almost as well on 9800 Pro, but the image quality is a little better on the 6800 with same settings. Doom3, HL2 and CS run and look MUCH better. Try Doom3 or Painkiller at 1600X1200 and you'll be amazed by the quality and smoothness.

lol that was an easy overclock I can get it to 1230 and 468 before it starts giving me problems I can post screen shots if you want
