Okay, it's not dead, yet, apparently. FW has several people posting success calling in to get the deal.

I stopped in at my local Staples, just curious, and walked out with a 160GB Maxtor sub in my greedy little hands for just over $60 after tax, plus printed $30 rebate form.

The CSR's eyes got real big when the rebate form printed after the already great deal. He almost forgot to take my signed copy of the cc receipt, before he walked away to go get himself a couple drives.

Best HD deal I've seen.

I've learned in the last few days that if you don't get what you want when you call in, just call again. This is so-true with price matches, etc.

I did it over the phone too. I asked about the rebate form, and she said that even if there were a rebate they most likely wouldn't honor it because of the discounted price. So expect some rejected rebates.

But, just in case, I'm probably going to try the rebate as well. Is there some other way to get it besides the form that prints out at the B&M register?

edit: Just printed out a rebate form from Staples.com. Ignore my stupidity.
