I got trampled online in the rush for a ss 6Gv2, and by the time the site stabilized those too were out of stock. However, I thought I would be smart, and see if there were any other options to be had.

It turns out that there is a ss 6Gv2 rebranded as the "6Gv2 Medal of Honor" edition on the same site. What is the difference? Nothing but the model on the invoice as far as I can tell. It appears to be functionally the same keyboard.

Oh yeah... except for one thing... You can only choose "Best Shipping" as your option which comes at a shipping cost of $45.70 delivered to Texas. Again, that is the SHIPPING cost alone. I wonder if they accidentally added a zero? Either way, watch out!

I almost went through with the purchase until the total stopped me in my tracks like slamming into a brick wall.

Anyone know much about their headsets?

I have a 5H that I used to use. It worked... is about all I can say about it. The microphone was kind of cool because it can be pushed internally and out of the way, but end user reviews often mention that the mic stops working, so maybe not such a hot design.

I currently use a Steelseries Siberia headphones, and a separate microphone*. The Siberia is very comfortable and I've found that I can wear it longer than most big cans. Sound is decent - I'm no audiophile but it sounds as good as any other decent set of cans, and any differences are just personal preference, like how much bass, the "warmth" of the sound, too bright of midrange, etc. I also have a Sony V6 and some AKG unit along with the Steelseries 5H and some decent Labtecs for comparison.

Note that Steelseries headsets/headphones have really short cables, maybe only 3' or so. My Siberia came with an extension cord which I have to use otherwise they would get ripped off my head when I leaned back.

*My separate microphone is a DICSONG

They don't. I suggested it to them, said they'd consider it. I haven't seen anything remotely close to the same style in a smaller pad, and the only thing close to it is the Ozone Trace, which is bigger and more expensive.
