No you cannot.

Interestingly, everytime I go into the Dell website (no matter SB or Home), there is a popup window asking me to sign up for the mailing list & special offers email. I signed up using my company email and home email (proper email addresses, not hotmails or other freebie email service) and I get both SB and home coupons. For SB coupons, I think they prefer work email addresses.

Watch out for that popup window next time you load the page!

So the $100 off select systems ends on 4/16 & the 15% off (if ya got one ) ends on 4/11?

Hmmm.... one more day to decide!

I'm with you on the waiting to decide thing. Does anyone think they'll make this deal any sweeter by tomorrow? I've got 5 of them sitting in my cart now, just itching to pull the trigger.

The people asking if it can be sweeter before you are just indirectly asking for coupons. Lame.

sweet...just got both the acknowledgement and confirmation emails

just I hope I don't get one of these:

I am sorry but your order is on hold because it was placed in the Small Business Division and no business information was found.

One of the following is needed to verify the company status: a copy of Business License or legal document with company name included and a list of the end-users information.

Please note that your order will automatically cancel within 48 hours.

Otherwise, please replace your order under the Dell Home sales website.

Thank you so much for your time and patience in this matter.

The Dell people must be just sitting around twiddling their fingers. When the last round of discounts came out last week, I placed an on-line order about 3:00 PM Tuesday. At 10:00 AM on Thursday, the UPS delivered the system.

That's 36 hours to process the order and payment, build the system, ship it, and for UPS to get it from Tx to GA. I was *impressed*!

I also just placed an order online. I used ebates, put half on my paypal card (i earn cashback on this card), and put the other half on my american express card (doubling the warranty I think). Plus I did manage to get a 15% coupon which I didn't pay for. So hopefully if this is approved, i'll be getting a heck of a deal!

Has anyone had any trouble using your name as the business name to place the order? I read that the rebate checks are made out to the company name. Any tips on how to put this order through?

irichie:

I'd suggest doing something like Irichie Company or Irichie, Consultant. When the check comes in just deposit it in your bank account and withdraw it after it clears.

I just called dell and asked them about this. The lady said it don't matter what you put for the company name. Not sure how much truth there is to this but all I asked was if the mail in rebate would still be valid if you didn't put a business name on there.

arg! these AT Dell deals are making me a dork! Now when I go out I say to myself "Hmmm... that $300 I just spent last night partying could have been another computer...... Hmmm... that dinner just cost me 512mb RAM...."

My artist/dancer girlfriend (who does not own a computer) said anyone with more then one computer is a dork! Well I guess she is dating a super dork with my 4th computer on the way! Jeez... to think I used to only have 1 computer before I ran into the AT Hot deals forum....

When I configure this I get the following

$836.00 - System as above
-125.70 - 15% rebate
-100.00 - Mail in rebate.
======
$610.30

That's a long way from $367, what am I doing wrong.

Thought it was worth mentioning that another option is the Dell 8250. They currently are offering a DVD+RW drive for the price of the CDRW drive on the 8250.

For about $200 more than the $367 4550 configuration these are the differences..

8250 versus 4550

4x DVD+RW drive instead of cd-rom drive
64mb GeForce4 mx instead of 32mb ATI rage
MS Office XP small business edition instead of Wordperfect suite
256mb pc1066 rdram instead of 128mb pc2700 ddr
2.4 P4 instead of 2.66 P4
30gig HD instead of 60gig HD

8250..$536 (pre-tax, after $100 rebate)
4550..$341 (pre-tax, after $100 rebate)
Not saying it's a better deal, but $200 isn't bad for those things if someone wanted them.
