Since I gave the first response, I might as well answer. I believe in Christianity as absolute truth. To me, I see everything else through it. Think of it as accepting a perspective that aligns everything I see in light of it's framwork. If you choose to accept another perspective, I think everyone will subconciously interpret everything they see to fall into their preferred framework as well. So citing a proof becomes irrelevant when we are going to interpret them differently. In the end, we'll both feel like our answers are the simplest, and the opposing view is backwards, wrong, and not firmly grounded.

In short, this thread isn't going to lead to anything productive, and it won't lead anyone to reevaluate their lives despite the gravity of the subject.

Are you you after you die? Is what makes us our bodies or our brains? Is it our souls? What are souls? Is your soul your personality? If your soul has nothing to do with you then why are souls important? If I can lobotomize someone and turn them into a criminal than is his soul affected? Do souls even exist? Does it even make sense to link souls to the body? If souls don't exist and your body begins rotting are you really you after you die? How long do you have to rot before you're not you anymore? Is there some sort of rubric to determine when you stay you after you die? is it one hour after death? two hours? a year? Do we even exist anymore after we die? Is it simply just over when we die? I believe that everyone goes to either Heaven or hell when they die. I came to this belief by examining the Bible. I determined that many things in it have been verified as historically accurate. I have also searched for anything that could have possibly been proven historically inaccurate, and found nothing. Therefore, if everything I have discovered in it can be sensibly determined as accurate, and nothing could be found and determined to be inaccurate, I can conclude that all of it is accurate. With that being said, it is my belief that what the Bible says about death is accurate and one determines which place they go to when they die according to who they live their life for.
