I would also like to know about the Noise Level as well as if anyone knows when these will be shipped. Today they are having a 15% off everything sale, combined with a 5% coupon...this drive comes out to be under $130. That is an awesome deal if this is comparable to the Travelstar GNX 40GB. The review said that the Travelstar is slightly faster in most tests, but they are pretty comparable, but you save about $30 with this one. It doesn't seem like the extra 8MB of cache makes that much of a difference according to the comparison tests.

I have a 40GNX in my Thinkpad T30 - got it through GoogleGear - it is very quiet and fast for a laptop drive. I am happy!

with dell, shipping dates/time are always a crapshoot. noone ever knows.

The IBM IBM 40GNX is now 147.49 shipped now in Googlegear.com.

If it is indeed better in terms of ruggedness this might be a better buy.

Yeah...I just noticed the $11 drop in price from $158 last week. I might get in on this soon. My 12GB's are filling up fast.
