MSRP $130. Middling amount of +12v at 36A. My BFG 600W does 39A. However, this Ultra should be a lot quieter. Hopefully their quality hasn't changed.

Andyson built, I know Jonny likes them.

This unit would be good for an HTPC or any single video card, loaded system up to 500W continuous. Nice price and best of all no rebate.

At extreme load. However, it didn't fail at JG or SPCR under high loads. I have seen some questionable reviews come out of HardOCP.

I doubt anyone would run a $49 psu at 600w continuous.

Someone buying a 600 watt nowadays is not gong to be doing SLI and major overclocks and RAID and stuff. This is a good unit for us non-SLI people. The unit performed well until 100% load.

edit: also it seems like the shutdowns were related to temperature protection rather than failure

It performed at load too in the JG and SPCR reviews. It will handle a heavily loaded machine just fine but probably not 8800GTX SLI. It would be fine with SLI on lower model cards. This psu shouldn't be considered cheap by any means but rather a great value. It is very powerful with excellent voltage control, great BFB!

Heh, I got in on the FAR/FS 600W X-Finity deal at Fry's a few months ago, so they're not always V-Series.

I've been happy with my V-series 500w I got FAR, it's running 24x7 in a FX-55 system with 6 drives

No problem at all. The psu is really a single rail psu with 36a available on the 12v which equals about 485w worth of power. Your system would idle about 200w and load to around 400-450w peak.

Fry's.com has the 800w one @ the lowest price anywhere I look.
Not just less, it's delta is huge. i.e. 50% or more.
ZZF has it for over $150 but OOS.
Very tempting to get it to replace my Ultra 600w that has served me well over a year now.

It would be nice if Outpost/Fry's just told you the item was out of stock instead of going to something basically like a 404 page.

I called them up last night when the 600W was giving an error and the conversation went something like this:

"well we had so much demand, we didn't want to oversell an item that was discontinued. it looks like we have a few left, you'll just have to check back."
"can I put an order in anyway, if you guys are really out of stock that's fine but I don't want to miss it."
"you'll just have to check back"
"when should I check back"
"ummmmmm, if you dont want to miss it, then often"
