If it were me I'd do a dual 20 inch LCD configuration like they have on FW. Of course its insane to spend $1500 on a desktop IMO. What would I do with the other parts - I have a sweet desktop already...

All of the parts you've selected can be found for much cheaper unless you can't put them together yourself. Except for the P4 and 2 Gig, everything you selected can be had for under $80-100. I'd find a case you like and do it yourself.

Not so sure about that. Just the components above would cost $869 on NewEgg. After 30% off his system price would be $729.54.

So he'd already save over a $100 and then get the motherboard, case, monitor, DVD drive, DVD burner, Audigy, and modem. And a year warranty.

I'd be interested to see you price out all those parts for $730.

I must be missing something here. After 40% off and rebate on shipping the system below would cost $1656. Then you sell both monitors for $1000 minimum.

Then, for $656 you get:

Dell 8400 case/powersupply
925X motherboard
P4 3.2
1GB DDR-2 533
XP Home
Office Basic
160GB hard drive
X300 SE vid card
dual layer DVD burner
CDRW
mouse/keyboard
modem

I was going to do this but now you guys have given me pause to think... maybe it's too much work for what you get.

Sorry about that. Its was my own fault for not reading the rules.

Why post deals like this because withou the codes it's useless. Nevertheless, please accept my appologies.

BlackEvo,

Please read the rules before sticking your foot in your mouth.

I know it's frustrating not being able to post the codes directly, but that is still better than not being able to post at all.

The way I look at it is this. I got the 3ghz with DUAL 2001FP LCD's for $1850 after tax, and not counting the $100 rebate for shipping. So counting the rebate, total cost of $1750. If I can get $1400-1500 for the PC WITH 1 of the LCD's, I basically end up with a 2001FP for $300-400. THERE IS THE HOT DEAL, well, for me at least.

i concur 6800GTO is a worthy upgrade as well

it performs roughly between a 6800GT and a 6800NU which is dirt cheap for the price since it only costs $178 over the craptacular X300SE (which is worthless to any gamer)

Yep just ordered that. I am going to keep 1 LCD and "give" my dad the system and the other LCD. Works out great for me. I have wanted that LCD forever Saw the $680 price a few times and was tempted, this one was hook line and sinker for me!!! I can't wait to get this. my 3 year old 19" CRT is starting to go on me anyways.

show me a pentium 4 530 with
