Just ordered one. Thanks a lot. I've always wanted a tv card, but thought it was too expensive. This definitely works.

For this price, it is a no brainer. Even if it doesn't work, it only cost you less than a DVD.

Mine just came in the mail. So far I can't get the software to work on XP pro...says device is unavailable or is being used by another application.

You might have a driver issue. The driver on the cd and product page were the wrong ones. I kept getting a yellow exclamation point in device manager. I found the drivers here http://www.encore-usa.com/download/driver/. Look for the file labeled ENUTV-DAT-Driver.rar. Don't let windows find drivers for this tuner, it will install hauppauge drivers.

Direct link to driver here

I can see why the price was so low. They must have had alot of returns from frustrated customers. I had yellow exclamation points and question marks when I used the drivers from the cd. It worked fine yesterday with the drivers I got here http://www.encore-usa.com/download/driver/. Now I am getting errors when I start up my computer and this isn't the first tv tuner I have installed. Now I gotta figure out how to get rid of this error.

The ota picture quality is much better than the hauppauge pvr 150 and avermedia 150 in my sister's computer. I didn't think the tiny antenna could pick up any signals but it did.

They changed the status of this item to deactivated, to oos/auto-notify. I'm hoping it comes back in stock again

Installed on Vista Ultimate with the drivers from the site as linked above, no apparant S/W issues.

On my P4 2.0GHz, 1GB RAM, GeForce 6200 system it was stuttering on HD content. Plan on a stronger computer.

I'll probably be returning mine. I keep getting "device is unavailable or is being used by another application." I've tried the CD driver and the one linked to here. Device Manager says I have driver version: 5.7.129.0 installed. Can anyone else verify this is the driver that is working for them? I'm using XP pro.

I reinstalled the TotalMedia3 multiple times too. Also I am not using the cable extension because a reviewer on newegg thinks that cable is not USB2.0 capable.

EDIT: when I disconnect the device and try to run the software I get a different message..."The device cannot be detected or is not supported". So it's being detected when connected, but something still isn't right.

I've read that if you unplug the device while your machine is running you have to reinstall the drivers, there are newer drivers on their webpage then on the CD so try those. Checked before class this morning and they had them in stock, I bought one and about 3 mins later they were OOS again. Keep checking if you are interested it payed off for me.

got mine, drivers are kinda flaky in vista, several BSOD since installing (using drivers from website, not the ones on disk). also i agree with the usb cable not being usb 2.0 capable. when using the included cable the picture is choppy, but when using another one i had that i know is usb 2.0 compatible it was fine

I just found a driver on this page on their website. It sounds like they know about your problem. I haven't tried it with mine yet, though.

I tried that driver and it fixed the boot error messages. If I have this tv card connected during a restart, I always get the "new found hardware wizard". The minute I get to the desktop screen it asks if I want to install the tv card even though I just installed the drivers. The only way to stop this from happening, I need to have it disconnected from the usb port on startup. I just plug it back in when I get to the desktop and I don't get the hardware wizard.

I installed this on a laptop (windows XP) and it works great. No errors about conflicting devices or bsods. I can also leave it connected during restarts.

I'm glad it's working for you. I almost have it working on a different computer. The software gets a little farther before messing up, but not far enough. Thinks it's analog and doesn't realize it's digital. I'm just going to return it and try another brand. Either it's my system or I got a bad one. For $15 it's not worth any more effort.

Anyone get any channels with analog cable? All I get is 60 FM channels. I get about 13 Channels with the antenna.

Just an FYI on the antenna. The base of the unit is magnetic so you can stick it on certain metal surfaces. The antenna itself also pulls out. Looks like a short unit but just pull on the top and it'll expand.

Probably a duh thing but I haven't RTFM yet.

Works great with the driver from the CD. I am running Vista and I get around 28 channels including 4-5 HD channels.

I hooked mine up last night, didn't try the driver from the disk, downloaded the one from the site and then installed the utility/TV app from the disk. Using just that little antenna I was able to 31 channels which is impressive. Good item and nice and protable.

This will be great for the laptop. nice and small and even the little antenna works well.

Egads, you got Vista to run acceptably on that system? But that's beside the point, HD requirements for Nero 8 that I just got yesterday indicate a minimum P4 Extreme 3.2GHz, Pentium-D 3.4 GHz, AMD FX 64 2.6 GHz, AMD X2 2.2 GHz, and Core 2 Duo of 1.8 GHz as minimum CPU clock speed requirements. Note that they list these in clock speeds, first time I've seen that in a while.

The other interesting thing to note there is the relatively close clock speed requirements between AMD and Intel. But that's a separate flame fest, I only note it as something noteworthy here.

Got one. Installed the software from cd onto an xp home box. No problems. Scanned channels. Got 32 in an area where there aren't any useable analog tv signals because of ghosting from multipath distortion. Was able to tweak things by putting a flat aluminum cookie sheet like thing underneath the antenna and then lowering the length of the antenna from full to a few inches shorter. Seemed to help the signal in my particular area. Nice picture on 19" hanns g monitor. Amazing deal. Only problem is that the channels were all commercial and nothing too great. But maybe at night the programming will get better than the soap operas and "judge" shows that are on right now. Thanks!

Mine came on Monday but i had a bunch of trouble setting it up in the basement computer. Moved it upstairs and installed the drivers from <http://www.encore-usa.com/download/driver/> and used the software on the CD.
It's running fine on Vista Ultimate 64-bit, albeit with weak signals

NO I didn't realize that. I'll have to see if that improves the signal.

Overall a great find for $15
