sumrtym,
Any of these come with Nero and Prasi abCD??? (Prasi allows you to drag and drop files onto a CDRW, after it's formatted,

Nero's InCD does what you describe for Prasi.

Is there anyone who hasn't gotten a cc of Nero along with the retail purchase of a CDR in the last year or two?

First, let me say that MysticMan1, you the MAN! This is the THIRD (3rd) CD-RW I have gotten from one of your deals, and they just keep getting better and better. If I wasn't partly sane, I would expect the next deal to work out so all I had to do was reply to one of your posts with " I'm in" and the drive would show up at my door free of charge and with a nice crisp Jackson enclosed in the thank you note from Cendyne. Damn, you are good.

OK, So I know it is not suppost start till tomorrow, but being all excited and everything, I printed out the $20 off 50, drove down to my OfficeMAX and low and behold, they had the sign up already "$99.99-40 instant rebate - $40 mail in = 19.99". I asked the nice lady to get me one, checked to see it was a 12 digit all numbers serial number (Model LTR-40125S), asked the nice lady if they took competitors coupons (why yes they do), and said lets do it.

Of course it rang up as $86.59. I asked about the $40 IR and she said it starts tomorrow. So I say, ' so you mean I have to come back tomorrow and get the credit?" Without a word she punched a few keys in her register and now like magic it rings up as $43.29.

Sweet. So for $3.29 (AR) I got a 40X lighton, upgradeable to 48X, and a free CD player.

Can't say it enough MysticMan1, you the MAN, you money, you are like.. cool and stuff.

I used the OD $20 off 75 online coupon and the FAR Khypermedia CR-R's to get this deal to fly with OM online. (they initially rejected the OD $20 off 50 coupon since it was B&M only). It also met the >$50 threshold for free delivery.

$59.99 Cendyne
$25 Khypermedia CD-R's
-$20 OD coupon
-$15 Khypermedia MIR
- $10 supplemental Khypermedia MIR
- $40 Cendyne MIR
= FREE

I placed the order on 8/31 and it will be delivered 9/4. One Kypermedia rebate says valid from 9/1 - 9/7, the other supplemental rebate says "register" reciept dated 9/1-9/7.

Will the OM invoice "ship date" or "order date" be what the fullfilment house looks at? Or will they take either date on the paperwork that falls within that timeframe. Will they get hung up on getting a shipping invoice vs. actual "register" receipt even though the offer is not specifically limited to B&M stores in any of the T's and C's?

Anyone have any experience along these lines? I don't want to get stung with the Khypermedia MIR's.

I can't find the OD 20 off 75 online coupon anywhere. I'm able to find references to the online coupon code to use, but no links to the actual coupon page that I can use as proof when I place an online order with Orifice Max. Someone PM me?

Than order online. They've never hassled me for referring to another region's ad.

OM CSR's seem to know which competitor coupons are valid and which ones aren't. Just say you have the $20 off $75 referral link.

They'll say you need to give this coupon to the driver but that's likely to be UPS who's not going to ask for it. If you do get an actual OM delivery truck just print out the OD web page when it say's "your referral ID has been accepted, $20 will be applied to your order, go shopping".

the iomagic 48x cdrw i bought from od was a benq. there aren't many (any?) reviews of the 48x, but i'll look
a way to tell is look at the drive on the front of the box -- afaict, they have started putting a picture of whatever drive is on the inside of the box on the outside...
hope this helps

Actually, my post is a copy of one I just posted a few minutes ago on a similar thread (but still different). My post refers to my purchase a few weeks ago of a Digital Research drive. But Digital Research is owned by I/O Magic. In fact, the warranty card inside the Digital Research goes to I/O Magic specifically. So my comments apply to this thread as well.

----------

I had purchased a Digital Research 48X16X48 burner when it was on sale at Best Buy a few weeks ago. It also was a rebadged Benq drive. The 4816P to be exact.

I sent it back to Best Buy after a week of use because it was just too picky about the media I was using. Granted, I don't buy premium CD-Rs, but this was a little on the silly side.

For example, my drive came bundled with a Hi-Val 16X CD-R. I thought that was kinda dumb considering it's a 48X burner. But anyway, they were bundling it so it should be an OK CD. In fact, the spindle I was finishing off was the same Hi-Val 16X CD-Rs. It refused to burn them any faster than 12X. Heck, my current 16X burner is better than that and it doesn't give me errors, so why so picky?

Then I opened up a new spindle I had of Imation 32X CD-Rs. It wouldn't burn these any faster than 24X and once it actually burned a coaster while burning-in the lead-in track on one of them. HUH? I've NEVER had that happen.

I'm no dummy, my setup was fine... DMA was enabled and Anti-Virus software was disabled while burning.

I'm not saying that all Benq (Acer) drives are bad, far from it. Many of the Acer drives have gotten good marks. It's just that in my particular experience, the 4816P was just too picky to be worth it. So back it went.

Another decent deal seems to be the Sony 40X on sale at Staples this week. Seems to be a good drive, upgradable to 48X if you want to do it. But there's a $20 rebate.

Anyway..... good luck.

OK, I placed an online order but the customer service rep told me to email her a link to the 15 off 50 Orifice Depot coupon. I can find the codes listed all over the web but no links to a page that actually shows the specific coupon information. Can someone help me out on this. I suppose I'll have to cancel the order if I can't come up with it.

"FREE CD Player with speakers after Mail-In Rebate, Valid 7/21 - 9/14 Only"

How it works?
Are they going to send us the CD player or we take the CD player from OM, pay and get money back from rebate?

Any Idea?

Thanks.

This is scorching hot today!!!!

I have gone off the deep end and ended up with 5 of these drives and all but 1 for free! I went into OM with an OD 20 off 50 printable coupon and the manager said he would honor it! Did it 3 different times and got 3 different models for free (Cendyne, Polaroid, and Memorex in order to get more than one mail in rebate). Then I went to OD and they price-matched the $19.99 ad as well as took the printable 20 off 50 coupon on a Sony drive so it was free as well!!!! OD didn't have anymore of the 40x12x48 drives except the Sony or I would have picked up a few more. Then I went to Circuit City and got an IO-Magic on the $19.99 pricematch, but they wouldn't accept the OD 20 off 50 coupon. 5 drives for $20 bucks! Let's see, that's $4 and tax per drive if I'm doing the math correctly! Great deal!!

OfficeMax also has 100 CD-R's for free AR as well as Belkin PCMCIA and PCI NIC cards, speakers, and jewel cases for FREE after rebates! I also got paid at OD for the $19.95 - 256 DDR memory with $65 mfg. MIR yesterday but that deal is dead today! Thanks everyone!!!!

I have re-flashed 2 of the drives (Cendyne and Memorex) to 48x speed with no problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I plan on selling 3 of the drives at the computer repair shop where I work!!!

I'm southeast of Atlanta!

Competitor's coupons had always worked for me at OM except today, when the assistant manager told me that he is not going to do it bc the price will be "too low after the rebate".

I politely agrued that it is his company policy and asked him why the customer getting a good price is such a big problem. He pretty much told me that he is not going to do it bc he does not want to. The whole thing was pretty humiliating.

The interesting part is that this ass. manager told me that they "always reject the coupons for on-sale items", but as we spoke a friend of mine has successfully used the coupon at another register!

I thing he just refused the coupon because "It cannot be combined with the store manager's big ego"

Does anyone have a copy of this policy? I can swear I saw something like "we gladly accent competitor's coupons" in writing somewhere. I would like to follow-up. What happened today was way out of line.

I swear to GOD!

These people are starting to piss me off....
Earlier today, they had no Cendynes but some of the I/O Magic. Well, I didn't want an I/O Magic. So, after much thought, I returned, resigning to buy the I/O Magic. They had none! But....interesting bit....someone had found four of the Cendynes in the back! I was relieved.....

So, I tried the 20 off coupon from OfficeDepot. First, the idiot teenager asked me if I knew I was in OfficeMax, not OfficeDepot. What a podunk city, Griffin GA is. They've probably never seen a competitor's coupon. Then, calling the manager, the women said that they don't accept "general" coupons, just product ones. What kind of BS is this?!? I know, once in a blue moon, OfficeMax has the same type of coupons. But, there wasn't anything I could do. Was I supposed to yell at her or something?

So, I called the regional manager. No luck, due to it being a Sunday. Sneakingly, I hid my Cendyne behind a huge Iomega box. Because it's not in the back room like the rest, and nobody checks to see whether all of the four from that box were sold on the register, I might have a chance in getting it. Without the 20 coupon, this is just like anyother deal. This pisses me off....

I want to print something out to go shove in that woman's face. I couldn't afford it without the 20 coupon, and it wouldn't be all that good of a deal. "Gladly accept competitor's coupons" my a**.

"Polaroid is in Chapter 11."
I doubt that it is really Polaroid Inc. selling that burner, just some packager using the name under license (like a lot of the IBM stuff you see in the stores). However, the packager is probably pretty shaky/shady too.

Isn't officemax.com and officemax b&m essentially the same comany? Or is one a subdivision?I would think the policies would both apply from the b&m to the net as well as vice versa.

After some negotiating, I got the manager at OM to give me this deal... I got the last Cendyne/Lite-on they had.

I didn't really need another CD-RW but free is a good price!

Umm, do you not understand what Chapter 11 is? The company which my father works for (which I will not name) is currently in Chapter 11, however all 57 plants are still running, they are still making, distributing, selling their products (Chapter 11 is reorganization). Your preconceived notion of what Chapter 11 is, well, it's not even close. Perhaps you should check this out (and by the way, my aunt is a prominent bankruptcy attorney, so some of my knowledge stems from many conversations I've had with her over the years regarding this subject). Here is that link for ya
