Update :The ad for the Verbatim 2.4x DVD+RW/R Drive shows 2 SKU numbers one for the Verbatim 2.4x (#20216641), the other is the new CenDyne 4x DVD+RW/R Drive (#20348170) that is now out, but the CenDyne 4x DVD+RW/R Drive is not currently on their web site. In the past they have substituted the new drive when the ad model was out of stock.

Anyway, I was thinking staples has the 2.4x verbatim drive for $209 and a $30 dollar rebate. Would it be possible to pricematch to officemax's after rebate price and possibly use a $40 off 200 coupon or a $30 off 150. It seems like it might be better for people who don't like dealing with big rebates.

I just got the Verbatim 2.4x for $131.xx (plus tax and after MIR) after a PM to Outpost.com from Staples during their 7 day online sale. But if this turns out that they will using the 4x as a substitiute then I guess I will eBay my current one and buy the 4x instead. Rather burn a DVD in 15 minutes than 30 minutes. Thanks MysticMan1 for another DVD deal.

That would work, but I haven't seem a Staples coupon larger than the $30 off $150 in a number of weeks, so that would be $169.99 - $30 coupon - $4 (the 10% of 110% PM) = around $135.99 and on rebate to deal with. But the bad part is that you would only get the older 2.4x version and not the new 4x drive.

Yea, I know, that part sucks. But if your OM doesn't carry the 4x it might not be a bad idea.
