section 17.46(b)
(11) Making false or misleading statements of fact concerning the reasons for, existence of, or amount of price reductions.
This section has three parts. The first prohibits misleading advertisements about the reasons for price reductions; for example, a store that advertises "going out of business sales" every few months.

The second also prohibits misleading statements about the existence of price reductions. A seller cannot advertise that prices are being reduced by 50 percent unless the item has previously been offered by the same seller at the stated regular price. Likewise, sellers cannot advertise that prices are marked 50 percent off suggested retail price unless the representation is accurate.

The third prohibits misrepresentations about the amount of price reductions. When a seller advertises "X percent lower prices," those representations must be true.

now i'm thinking maybe the third one could apply?

1. No.

2. Give it up. It's a price mistake, leave it at that.

Something for you thread crappers to think about. There are the pics somewhere in the archives as proof.
FYI Technoweb is no Dell. Something for you dreamers to think about.

In the meantime...you pay interest on your credit card that was used. (Depending on your billing cycle)

Another opportunity to give a bad rating to a company for not following "Cumstomer Satisfaction Garantee" policy. I'm on it.

LoL, not all of us, Geek , read the email again.

And I dont know why people order from sites like mom & pop shops on pricing error, you know they cant afford to honor at that price. They are not a big company like Gateway to even give you a $50 coupon with the cancellation.

Just leave these deals for BVGers, atleast someone can make use of this price error, instead of killing the deal.

Someone should open up a BVGers thread only atleast for this month.

They cancelled my order too.
I expected nothing and really got nothing.
Though I have to say, it was fun for a day (to dream about getting it)

This looks to be an honest mistake. I don't blame them for not honoring it as they would have lost tons of money. You can bad mouth them if you want, but everyone makes mistakes. If they continue to have pricing errors, then that may be a problem that may warrants negative feedback, but give these guys a break. Did anyone actually expect to get this deal? We all can dream and sometimes they do come true but I can't justify giving these guys a bad name for one pricing mistake.

>>>WTF!? Is this true? Why the hell would someone do this? Jealous that someone has BVG? This was probably the same person that runs Ebay auctions and sells information to deals for $5 a pop. I want to strangle these people. Seriously.. Let me know if this is true or not. I have to cancel my Dell order if AMEX is not going to honor this BVG.

>>>>Jealous that someone has BVG?

Yes, that would be my guess, I have shot my mouth off about how much $$$ I have made on BVG and maybe it might've rubber some the wrong way. Imagine that.

Not a joke. My BVG PM was cut short. Your mileage may vary, but they rejected me faster than a 14yr with a fake ID.

Cancelled as expected. I won't say stupid, but just not realistic to think that it would come through. Just take it as a free game, or free hope.

with the hit they are taking on resellerratings.com, and the many dissatisfied customers that they have just created, it seems like simply canceling orders might not have been the wisest decision for them to make.

If I were techonweb, I would have put forth some effort to make these 3,000+ customers become a potential customer base. All they would have had to do is go to Viewsonic directly, and ask them if they would consider supplying them with a 6,000+ item order of LCD panels at a bulk price. Say viewsonic went back to them with a $300 per unit price. At that point, its TechonWeb's call. Losing a bit of money over this and having a huge amount of satisfied customers -- or cancelling the whole thing and ending up with a huge amount of dissatisfied customers, along with a resellerratings hit that could potentially turn off a few more thousand customers. They could have even passed on the 'added amount' of the panels to us -- I still would have been happy with a $300 18" panel.

I don't know, just the way they handled it rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, the kind of damage that it caused on resellerratings - let alone hearsay and whatnot, could be more damaging than they realize.

I think you need to open up a new technoweb, and do the same price mistake, and we will promise you 10,000 customers

You think anyone can pull this off ? for an item which was priced less than 50% how much do you think it costs Viewsonic to manufacture them ? 20 bucks ?

So now if you still go ahead and cancel any of our orders, should we also go ahead and rate you bad on reseller ratings ? Grow up pal

LoL
