In the meantime...you pay interest on your credit card that was used. (Depending on your billing cycle)

You need to read up on CC processing.

You don't pay interest on holds, & your order never went beyond a hold.

My order got cancelled too - Just like I expected. It was worth a shot, kinda like the lottery.

Only this one was free.

I don't think it was a pricing error, they even got the math right for the supposedly "pricing error". IT said SAVE $499 and Buyit for $216. If it was a price error then the save price would have been around $199 instead of $499. WE should all complain and overhwlem them with emails and phone calls.

I think it is sad and unfortunate that anyone would give TechOnWeb a less then stellar mark on Reseller Ratings in light of this mistake.

Why shouldn't they get a bad rating on resellers rating? If I go on Ebay and sell something for a low price and I don't sell it to the buyer and say I accidentally priced the reserve too low, I get bad feedback. Why shouldn't they? This is a professional organization. Pay someone to monitor your site or pay the consequences when you post a false price.

There is alot of negative feedback msg. on resellerratings.com I hope techonweb looks at all the dissatified customers they have incurred.

Sorry guys - I am as cheap as any of you but I have to weigh in with those who say let it go and move on. If you were talking about a large corporation like Dell/Best Buy etc who could eat this without noticing ($100K - $200K?), I'd be on your side. If you are talking about a small company whose viability might be threatened by this one error - how would you want to be treated if you were on the other end of the stick?

I had created an anandtech account thinking I was gonna get in on this Hot Deal stuff and contribute, but now I see what this this is all about. Just a bunch of dorks trying to get away with incredible scams and whining when something doesn't work out their way. I'm getting my lawyer, false advertising, blah blah blah...it was a friggin' pricing error! Do you people have nothing going on in your lives? You go and leave poor reseller ratings for this company, WHO E-MAILED YOU and confessed to the pricing error--you won't be billed--no harm done--get on with your life. Although I see several people who are telling you to get over it, it appears that a great many of you act like spoiled children. You want revenge because you didn't get your precious LCD at an unbelievable price. That's pathetic.

Another opportunity to give a bad rating to a company for not following "Cumstomer Satisfaction Garantee" policy. I'm on it.

Let us see. You misspelled guarantee. You misspelled customer. They made one typo, you made two. I guess we should give you a bad rating.

I too am more than a little put-off by the predatory nature of some of these goons. I'd say "get a life" people, and pray that someone doesn't take you to the cleaners when you goof up, that is, when you grow up!

Fozzie, you do realise that by accidentally entering the wrong numbers in said categories, it can mix it up....Also...perhaps the HTML was mistyped...meaning the You saved should have said "Your Price" and vice versa.

Holy crap! How did you manage to recover from that one? Wait, apparently you didn't. You need something to do with yourself if you're dredging up a pricing mistake from "a few years ago". Didn't get the ATI card for 20 bucks instead of 200? Cry me a river.
