If anyone's order gets cancelled, I'd like to take a stab at getting in on this deal. If you could call up a sales rep and ask them to put one on hold until they get the next shipment in (they can't charge you until it's ready to ship right?) I'll pay you $275 once they're restocked. I just want a guaranteed $260 price tag, even if I have to wait a little while to get one. PM me, thanks.

Must be my lucky day. I just checked and I have a tracking number. I tried to track it and didn't get results yet but I think it will probably be shipped as the status says shipped. Airborne second day delivery.

The tracking No. now gives results. Am I the only one who got a card shipped?

Hate to rub it in even further, but I too was successful in getting one. Tracking number even works, it's definitely on its way !

My real reason for posting is twofold :

a.) It never hurts to try on these things and you lose nothing

b.) Timing is NOT everything. In my case, I placed my order way way late in the game. I think the real factor was inventory at their various warehouse fulfillment locations. They probably did sell every one they had, and your luck depended on how many orders came from your region vs. their warehouse inventory for that region. East and West-coasters likely faced lower odds of success as a result.

I also thought that I ordered too late. When I found the deal there was almost a full page of posts. I was really looking for an x800 xt deal and hadn't realloy thought about the x800 pro. I did some quick investigating and came back to this forum and it was on the second page of posts when I ordered.

I got lucky too, mine should be here today. I think Midnight Rambler has a point about the inventory at the different warehouses, as I am in the Midwest as well. Thanks OP!

my video card is getting shiipped. I ordered around 6pm PST online. My best friend ordered like a minute after me but his order got cancelled (he tried to order 3).

I huess it was your proximity to the warehouse that had the inventory and whether or not your credit card would release the funds right away, should have use the check card.


But anyway it was a hot deal, glad quite a few of you got in. At least they didn't pull the pricing error crap. I wonder if they actually lost money on these, since the msrp is $399.

My search for another vid card continues. :laugh:

Can I ask a favor of someone who is getting their item shipped:

I am going to escalate this to a supervisor because I am sick of Outpost's lousy service, and I need an order number that was placed after me (~6:15pm EST) via the web that was shipped.

If anyone is willing to PM me their order number (I just need the order number no other personal information), I can at least make a case and see what they say.

I don't think I am able to access any of your personal information with your order number, but please correct me if I am wrong and I will withdraw this request.

I understan though if people don't feel comfortable in giving out order #. I am just sick of Outpost..they are truly the worst e-tailer I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

There is ALWAYS another deal around the corner and I GUARANTEE that there will be a better deal than this in the next week or two. There is always another better deal around the corner and now is the season.

Post on reseller ratings, if you are really pissed call your Attorney General and the BBB but just decide to never shop at outpost again and move on.

I have done all of the above, but at some point don't you have to stop and fight a little? When calling outpost I only get their general CSR's who know nothing--I'm still waiting on a supervisor to call me back...I'll be waiting a while I think.

I have contacted the BBB the LAST time outpost did the exact same thing..guess what--never heard anything back.

At some point, I think you have to have a little pride and fight for your rights as a consumer. I'm not going to spend hours on end over this, but a few phone calls are certainly worth the effort.

I am just sick of a lousy company treating customers like crap..I realize I can choose not to shop there, and I hadn't until this past deal. If I see a good price on something I am going to try to buy it assuming the company is reputable--I shouldn't have to place an order, call to confirm it is IN STOCK, to later have it being cancelled.

First of all, chill down a little dethman. The guy has a point. Any person who visits this forum on a regular basis can tell you why calling almost certainly kills a deal. Most deals like this are price mixups, and calling them just allerts them all the faster to the problem, that's why calling is a sure way of killing a hot deal like this.

Not really, calling doesn't do anything. By the sheer magnitude of orders, regardless of the phone calls the deals go bad.

No Need for Sir Dude to be be paranoid, No need for dethman to be mean about it.
