Any clues for which sites offer epp coupons- have been checking ones I know of and trying web searches

Got it- just got my order in epp. Man- thats where I started this whole mess.

Paid a little more than I wanted- got the extended warranty- seems like after bigger % off and rebate it only cost $50-75 over one with basic warr.

Dony usually buy warranties- is that a good move for a laptop?

For all those who were unable to get in on this deal - don't fret. Wait a few weeks, a month, whatever and start visiting the FS/FT forum. LOTS of people buy more than one laptop or end up overextending themselves credit-wise.

I missed out on th elast (Nov 2004) uber-deal and checked out the FS/FT forum. I came accross a GREAT trader (u know who u are) and bought my i9100 for what he paid, and I even got the shipping rebate!

For some reason the deals I see listed in this thread don't seem to be as good as the Nov 2004 deals?

I remember the week after the last $750 off coupon, Dell came out with another deal that was essentially the same price but with a free double memory upgrade.

Watch eBay get flooded and prices plummet as people list and sell these before their CC bills are due.

i say sell them in a month. keep them sealed, and sell them in may. if you ebay them now you make 50 bucks maybe. next month, 100+ dollars. but you have to pay your CC bills first

personally i only got one in for sister. so not selling them myself. but i learned my lesson from november, where i sold one for a mere 40 dollar profit

I dont think so Warder. I think it's the 12pipe version. Still the best card you'll get in a laptop under $2000.

This has been one of the most amusing Hot Deals threads, I loved it.

I didn't get my order in and in retrospect I'm glad I didn't because:
  • First and foremost I don't really need a new laptop, I'll just pay down our car loan with the $772 I would have spent on this laptop.
  • People have reported some prices were inflated a little, not sure if this is true or not. My "ideal" configuration before 8AM was $1522.
  • $899 minimum to receive free shipping kinda kills it for me, my total was around $772 after coupon.
  • I'm still undecided between the 700m and 6000. The local Dell kiosk will have a brand new Inspiron 6000 on display around 4/25. So this will give me more time to research models and possibly when I next buy a laptop I can get 2.0/DVD Burner for under $850 shipped. Besides I really like HP laptops and it's tough choosing between Dell and HP.

10,000 orders placed within 1 hour

Congratulations to those who got in and let's cross our fingers this will repeat around October 2005, I'll be ready and waiting.

According to Ben's website the 10,000 coupon were used up in less than an hour.

Avervage Laptop is $600 x 10,000 = $600,0000 that is a very good marketing.

This deal was only good if you configured one with minimum specs...just to get you to $1500, then the shipping charges on top of it

Still a very good deal ..but not flaming hot. I'm sticking with the 9300 I ordered on Sunday I guess. I ordered another one today, but I may just cancel it now...

oh well...on to more deals:thumbsup:

I really need a hot deal on an Axim now:0

Hey Ross,

RossMAN? With self control? What the hell is going on?!?

People have reported some prices were inflated a little, not sure if this is true or not. My "ideal" configuration before 8AM was $1522.

Prices were the same from last night - the exact same spec/price. My cousin spec'ed a few out as well.

$899 minimum to receive free shipping kinda kills it for me, my total was around $772 after coupon.

Mine was $842 and free shipping was applied on my order. (Both confirmations)

I'm still undecided between the 700m and 6000. The local Dell kiosk will have a brand new Inspiron 6000 on display around 4/25. HP laptops suck, coming from a former HP laptop owner. I'm sure their newer ones are pretty slick, as a few engineers here have a couple of them.

I went with the 6000 over the 700m b/c:

A) Size wasn't too big a factor. I currently have a slim line (under 1", ~4lbs) Gateway 200ARC w/ Centrino, 1.4, etc. It doesn't bother me going from that to my Dell laptop (work). It didn't bother me sitting on my laptop.

B) Integrated Intel graphics. I'm not going to do hardcore gaming on it - I built up a P4 2.6 w/ HT during XMas if I wanted to. The 6000 just had more customizable features and what I wanted out of everything. A buddy ordered one about 2 months ago and I fell in love with it in the few minutes I had to use it with.

For $911 (including tax), I figure why not. I can sell off the old Gateway for probably $700ish and come out with a new spanking PC for $200.
