Hrmm... I saw this somewhere earlier while surfing the net. I thought it looked nice. I was thinking either this or the dell 2005fpw? I know the dell one is 1 inch smaller but other than that, how does he compare specs wise?

Wait...seriously Rossman? Anything specific? I greatly respect you opinion. Have you tried both? I have a 2005fpw right now....would it be much of an upgrade? Is there something else that is coming out that might be worth waiting for?

this will work with hd content on vista and this has componet imputs for hi-def tv or game systems which the dell does not.

I would never get a monitor from Circuit City. The return policy clearly specifies a 15% restocking fee for its return.

I would get a $50.00 off a $500.00 purchase from Staples off of ebay and get it from Staples (I actually did).

Edit: Don't forget to use one of your $3.00 ink cartridge recycling coupons either.

Ok, I've found some coupons on ebay but haven't bid on them yet. Just wanted to know if ordering online, if Staples accepts more than one coupon?

2 wouldn't work anyways because the first 50 off would take it below 500


on there page however it says A maximum of 10 coupons can be applied to an order

The seller of the coupon I found stated in the description that only one of that specific coupon was allowed for each customer.

You can't (or shouldn't be able to) stack generic dollar off coupons. There are coupons for specific items that you can apply then apply the generic dollar off coupon. This is probably why it says 10 coupons max. per order. For example, you buy item A and item B together on one order. Item A has a $20 off coupon good for only item A. Item B has $10 off coupon good for only item B. You apply both coupons. Then you apply a generic dollar off coupon to the whole order.

I ordered this monitor. Ebay has some 50 off 500 that's for furniture but the system will accept it. Hopefully the order will ship.

I have the Dell 2005FPW and I found a couple of things disappointing. When using analog VGA, you can't use 1920x1080 or 1280x720 (HD resolutions). The monitor will act like it accepts the resolution but certain controls aren't available like contrast and color. The result is unusable since the contrast is way too high. I know for a fact that DVI supports 1280x720 so I'm at a lost as to why it's not supported with analog VGA. The Dell manual states that only the resolutions on it's supported list are guranteed to work. 1280x720 isn't on the list.

I notice the Gateway manual doesn't list it either. Anyone know if 1280x720 is supported with analog VGA (D-Sub)? The specs say 720p is supported with DVI but I'll be using DVI with my computer. My Tivo or DVD player is going to use component. That leaves analog VGA for my HD reciever/XBox360.

Also, anyone know if the secondary PIP window have aspect controls? The Dell forces the secondary PIP window to be 16:10.
