Do yourself a favor and get the Seagate at CUSA instead. I used to have all WD SE drives until they got really loud. They start off quiet and then after about 3 months, they get annoyingly loud. I've sold off all of my WD drives and replaced them with the much quieter Seagate drives.

F**k Best Buy forever. I will never waste my time on another order from that joke of a business.

I ordered the ATI Radeon 9800 np. It showed in stock and people have bought them at stores after I placed my order. My status- backorder. Anyone want to place odds on my ever getting that card?

I put an order in this morning for the WD 120 HD. It seemed to go through with no problems. The order doesn't even show up in my account.

The last time before these order I placed an order for some CDr's. BestBuy didn't want to sell them so they put them on back order for three months, canceled the order and placed them back on their site the following week.

If you have ever suceeded in getting an order from them, consider yourself fortunate. I'm tired of wasting my time and losing money(passing up deals at other places) trying to order from them and won't bother doing it again.

Best Buy rebates I get always come quicker than the manufacturer rebates, about 6 weeks. I have never sent a rebate to Western Digital so I can comment on their speed.

Bestbuy is better with their rebates than any other store I know of. Western Digital on the other hand, I sent in 2 rebates from a hd i bought back in november of last year i got my 30 dollar rebate after resending once, have been told to resend over and over again for the 50 dollar one, still nothing, sad thing is I sold this hard drive a while ago...

I'm kind a glad this deal vaporized, I was temped to get one. But I'm saving myself for a Black Friday deal which has to be better.


BTW Bestbuy rebates are fast. If you follow the rules no one gets hurt, order on-line and pickup in-store you have to use the on-line rebates. If you buy it in-store (I know the third rebate is only for on-line purchase) you have to use the rebate that prints out at the register.

There's one rebate form appropriate for each form of purchase. Combining them.. well, I'm sure YMMV, especially if they pursue mail fraud charges against you.

What mail fraud charges? They linked all 3 rebates from their front page for gods sake. There is no way they can do anythign to you (as long a syou have a screenshot, lol).

In this case, they had all 3 rebates listed on this drive's page on the web site. The implication was that all 3 applied, although no one can know for sure at this point, since they removed the original page. (I'm guessing they did make a mistake)

However, having said that, I think I like the Seagate deal at CompUSA better, so will probably be keeping that one instead and returning my WD. It saves me the hassle of attempting to go through 3 rebates instead of 1, and for a quieter drive to boot.

no offence, but seagate drives don't cut it when it comes to EIDE. They r queit, but that's about it.

If somebody can post a scan of teh front page, i am sure it would help out a bunch of ppl.
