So my question is.. First off the charged me over night shipping and it is going taking take office max 9 days to ship it. Second I didn't get the 115% difference. Third what about the tax on the 89 dollars? Will I get that back too? Fourth are they gonna try and take away my $20 off $75 coupon?

ARG!

1) They charge overnight shipping regardless of when Office Max ships, it's their policy.
2) You get 115% of the difference ONLY when PMing office stores which Microcenter isn't.
3) You WILL get tax back on those $89, don't worry.
4) No, they WILL NOT take off that coupon, though there is a better one out there - $50 off $250 order.

Ok, im h oping you guys can clarify a few things..I REALLY need a new hard drive

First,

The item is no longer on the OM website, is it possible to PM and back order?

2. Which place should I PM to?

3. Important! how can I use a coupon when PMing, it says that the coupon will be taken into consideration, how did others get around this. Also, could someone please PM me the coupon needed?

thanks a bunch!

1) According to the PM answer sent from Rhonda at Office Max (This pricematch is not valid for a store order, a phone order or an order placed through our Catalog Department), it is NOT possible to do that. I'd call just to make sure though.
2) Microcenter.com is still a valid PM place.
3) That's their policy, but usually they DO NOT take a coupon into consideration, so you can use it just fine. However, the problem still remains with #1 problem.

so I would want to us the 30 off 150$? could someone PM that to me? I want it ready, for when these come back into stock (if they do) I bet OM has thousands of them, but just flagged them as OOS until microcenter takes them off-sale again.

KC - Overland Park Breakdown
bestbuy - 119th & Quivera - Manager set hard PM price at $209 (plus $100 Rebate)
OfficeMax - 119th & Quivera - I was told they only PM OfficeDepot (Said that is their only local competition)
bestbuy - 119th & Metcalf - Out of Drives, offering Rainchecks
OfficeMax - 119th & Metcalf - PM'd successfully.. Threw a fit about it, but in the end I won. Persistance pays off everyone..

After you receive your hard drive call CS and point out that in the PM they changed you for overnight shipping but didn't ship it to you overnight, and have they adjust the shipping cost.

The best buy method ($29.99) worked for me! Just did it tonight.

No hassle at all, no questions asked. I just said I want to do a price match, and handed them the two printouts of the ad. They called microcenter's 800 number to confirm the price, and gave it to me. Both rebates printed from the register, and they gave them to me without any hesitation.

I visited the Milpitas, CA BB today and not surprisingly they were out of stock. but accepting orders. So I placed an order. Would get it in 3 days and would price match at that time. Hoping for following maths to be true:

Price + Tax ======> 270.61
Rebate ======> -120.00
110% PM + Tax ======> -118.25

Final Cost to me ======> 32.36

Yay!!!

I just called the BB rebate center to ask about what to send in for a "copy of receipt". The BB rebate center CSR told me that my rebate receipts are fine. Does anyone know any differently? I would really like not to have to send in the PM receipt because it has all that PM info on it. The rebate receipt looks just like I might've used a store credit or something to buy the hard drive.

What would you do?

Got back from the Pasadena,CA Best Buy. They're expecting a shipment of them TODAY. Supposedly they will have them on shelves tomorrow morning. I'm gonna call before I go tomorrow to see what's up Thanks for the post. Insanely HOT. And I doubt you can PM to Fry's and their $125 considering it's only OEM and BB only carries RETAIL. Oh well, worth a shot.

Use the rebate receipts, that is what they are for. No one at the rebate center needs to see anything else.

For BB rebates, the rebate receipts printed at the register definately qualify as an original receipt for rebate purposes. I have never had a rejected rebate from BB, and always use the rebate receipts. And it's just so convenient too!

just went to one local BB and got one. there are still several left. unfortunately, they can't verify the price from local MicroCenter because no one answer the phone. So I just grab one and was asked to come back anytime this week to PM it. will try it later this week.

Thanks Dukati. That's what I needed to hear. I had been told that BB woudn't honor some rebates if you just submitted the rebate receipt. I really didn't want to send my original receipt in with all the PM garbage on it and now I won't. BTW.. The BB rebate receipts are very handy.

just stopped buy the NON-local bestbuy in Pinole, CA to get this. I called ahead and they had 3 in stock, This was the only best buy within 50 miles of me that had the HD in stock. I went there to try and price match and i had the a very bad time. I first talked with 2 very rude customer service people, They insisted that the never heard of MC and they complained that this was a online ad anyways. They refused to call MC. I then ask to speak with the cust. Service manager and he said that he is not allowed to honor this and he had similar problems like this all day. Then he ran a grabbed the store manager to talk to me. He then told me he under no circumstances would honor my PM because MicroCenter is not their "Direct Competitor," They said that they have never heard of Microcenter. He told me to have a nice day and walked away, i didn't even get to defend MC. I got in my crummy car and took my 1 hour drive in a bad mood.

Now i just don't believe that BestBuy really hornors their title of "Best Buys."

If anyone knows of any location in the Bay area, CA that either has them in stock and is honoring the PM (Price Match) or that is taking rainchecks please PM (Private msg) me!

Also anyone have any other problems like this?

Agreed. You need to be prepared to battle with these Aholes.

How far was the Microcenter from your BB btw.

You know.. I thought about doing something today if the BB that I went to didn't honor the PM because Microcenter was too far away. I was prepared to find a BB that had the hard drive in stock and then I was going to buy the drive and then drive to the BB that was nearest to a Microcenter and then do the PM there. There would be no excuses for BB not to PM in this case.

Great deal only if you can get the rebate back. Nowaday it is getting increasingly difficult to get your rebate back even though you do everything right. $100 rebate is kind of big gambling.

Still waiting for almost $200 rebate checks.

Well.... i went to the BB in westminster, CA... They were the only ones in my area that had any left. I tried to price match them but first they said they wouldnt do it cause they had to have them in stock... and I told them I was just there and they did. He then proceeded to tell me that these drives were refurbished and that they wouldnt do it. So I called MC and verfified they were not refurbished drives. He then said, as I showed him my print out of the MC web page, that I needed an actuall printed add for him to do it... low and behold I had one in my back pocket. I whipped it out for him and he looked puzzled for a bit and took my add to show to his managers... when he returned he resorted to simply saying that he would not honor the price "because it was too low and they didnt understand how MC could be selling them that cheap". I asked him if that wasnt a clear violation of their price match policy and a case of false advertising. He shrugged and said that he saw my point so and I asked to speak to the managers but was told that they were busy. Needless to say the store and the names of their managers got reported to their corperate office.... if Im not satisfied with their response Im going to file a complaint with the Dept of consumer affairs. well... I bought thew drives anyways cause they were the ONLY 2 left in my area. I tried price matching it another store but was toold the MC was too far away (20mins) and that I would have to go to a closer BB even though there is a BBB 5 mins away from the MC but still it was far for me. So I got to the next BB closer to the MC and they were happy to ring me up... funny thing is that the MC add has 259 with a big red X throught it and says next to it "save $110. I guess BB cant even hire decent help cause he PMed it at $110...

so, 2 drives @ $96 each and $240 in MIBs = priceless.... literally... funny? arent I?

so I guess it was worth all the driving around for 3 hrs and dealin with law-braking BB managers in the end.
