Yep, just got my email saying that I have the incorrect UPC for the hdd for my $30 rebate.

Tried to call the rebate center but I can't get a person to answer

Ideas????

My $30 OM rebate had the same message. I spoke with someone at rebateshq and they said the upc# did not match. They appsarently don't have both upcs (SE and non-SE) in their system. She took my word for it and corrected my $30 rebate, so it shows as valid now. The $50 WD rebate is still "awaiting paperwork", but I expect the same issue (wrong upc).

Well, good news is my $50 rebate is now showing processing rebate, instead of invaild. Of course now I'm gonna have to call again for the $30 rebate which is invaild. You would think the rebate center would fix these problems as calling 1-800 numbers should cost them in phone bills.

Talked with the rebate center this morning about my $30 rebate. Explained my situation and said that I had copies of everything including the OfficeMax ad. The rep told me that I would clear up my problem and continue processing the rebate. Just check the website and now the rebate shows as in process.

I went through the same process everyone else is this morning with the $30 rebate. My sister's rebate as well mine were all denied for various reasons. They had my sisters rebate down for a 80gb drive and the upc was wrong. Took me 6 calls to get them to change the rebate to the correct amount and drive, and the 7 call I got her upc validated. I called on my rebate before her's and I have to wait for them to approve it. How stupid. Earlier this week, I called to get our $50 rebates fixed because the upc's were wrong. I'm getting sick of calling these places to fix their mistakes.

That's the whole reason they are doing it... They want you to give up. And it doesn't look like rebates are going to get better any time soon.

Yep once I called in both my rebates suddenly became vaild. Funny thing is each time I called, they said it was a glitch in their system, which is why it showed up invaild.

I received an email a few days ago from RebatesHQ notifying me I was invalid on my 50$ WD 120GB SE hard drive as well. They claimed I didn't send in the right labels/UPC code. After reading this and seeing everyone else had a problem I figured there must have been some wide scale problem! Thanks guys for your work, cause mine is VALID now =) Now, I just gotta get the other rebates to come in... 30$ 120gb, plus (2) CDR rebates. ARgh, I better get 'em!

I checked my $30.00 rebate at rebatehq and it came up as invalid. It was listed as being a $20.00 Kingston DDR memory rebate. How in the world they managed to screw this up makes you wonder? I called them and told them that I've never bought or ever owned ANY kingston memory. They changed it over the phone with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. You have to wonder how many of these innocent mistakes are really mistakes at all. I'm suspicious at how easily the lady changed my rebate right over the phone without asking for any information at all. How many people even follow up on these invalid rebates.

I haven't got any notice back regarding the $30 rebate. The other rebates (CD-R, ect) I send in the same time showed valid almost a week ago. Is rebatesHQ just going to ignore my rebate request without even admitting receiving it? What should I do?

I similarly got an invalid, said it was for a Cendyne CD-RW!!! They're doing this crap on purpose...

I got an e-mail last week stating that my $30 rebate for the WD 120GB drive was invalid. They said I had submitted a UPC for a 40GB drive. I don't know where they got that misinformation from. Anyway, I called rebateshq this morning and, after wading through their phone menu multiple times and having to hit redial multiple times, I spoke with a real live person. He was a bit weird, but he ended up validating my $30 rebate. He had me read off the UPC from the copy that I had saved and told me that it was correct. Rebate validated!! w00t! I also asked him about my $50 rebate for the same item. I had not received an e-mail about it yet, but I asked anyway. He said that rebate was good, also! w00t! w00t! Got both rebates validated with one phone call. Now I just have to wait for them to arrive (if they ever do). Oh, and my Kphypermedia 100 CD-R $20 rebate was validated without even having to call in.

Its only on purpose in that they test all potential employees and pass on the ones that do it "right".

Update:

Just check with rebatehq and it now shows that both the $50 and $30 rebates are valid. <VBG>

called rebatesHQ at least 5 times to get to talk to a person. The old lady speaks bad english and couldn't follow the logic. I send in the $30 rebate together with a $20 rebate on CD-R. the $20 rebate on CD-R shows valid, nothing shows up for the $30 on WD. Told her that, and she said she saw no record of it. It took me three tries to let her understand the rebate form is in their office but they took care one request on it and overlooked the other request. finally, she told me to resubmit. I think they just like to make it as painful as possible for us.

Try calling back - sounds like you had a bad CSR. The rest of us are getting ours validated.

Wow, just got the WD 120GB I ordered 5/25 delivered today, 16 days.

Good thing I saved a copy of that weeks ad indicating that the $30 MIR is for item# 2014-8555 (2mb) and 2034-6127 (8 mb). I have to read this thread thoroughly for any problem/s regarding that $30 MIR. If I get both MIRs, it will be $40.08 or $0.334/GB.

Thanks to those who had invalid rebates and called to get them fixed. My $30 and $50 rebates for the WD 120GB are valid (on the first try). Amazing.

I justed checked online and my $50 rebate showed up a valid, but I don't see anything on the $30 one...shouldn't they both show up thru the RebatesHQ.com site? I sent them in on the same day? Thanks again to all those that called and straightened out this mess for the rest of us.

I sent mine in on the same day, and they showed up on consecutive days (June 5th and 6th, to be specific). Wait a couple days, and then call.
