ok i have read through the thread, but I still got a couple questions :0.

situation A.) All the local stores sell out of the wd hardrive, x time later the products become available online, if i purchase them online, will I still be able to get in on the deal? Do the rebates go by time ordered? Basically, if the items come online at sometime, is there anyway of not getting the deal if I were to purchase it online?

the deal i'm referring to is...10far item, paper clip, and wd hardrive. Also, there's 2 different item numbers for the wd hardrives...one being 2 meg other 8 meg...do they cost the same? Can just get the 8 meg without worrying about far items..yes/no?

also I have a 120gig 8meg version already...if i were to get 2meg version and put the 8/2 in raid 0, would it matter?

People are going to hate me for this one, but I will say it anyway.

Went into office max to see if they had the drive. While I was looking for it, I saw that they had a 100 pack of slimline cd cases for $8-$8 rebate, 100 pack of cd-r's for $19.99-$20 rebate, 50 pack for $12 -$12 rebate. I tossed them all into my cart, and when I cheked out I asked for a 120 gb WD drive, and was shown it on a skid (they had the drives out in the middle of one of the back isles with the sale stuff for tommorow already on it.

Here is the kicker. aparently, all the signs for the rebates were for tommorows Ad, so no rebate coupons printed out. I comented on this, and was told they were for tommorow's ad ( I honestly did not know, as the link to the ad is broken in the first post) so I talked to a manager, and they credited me for the rebates right there in the store! They even honored my $30 off coupon that I printed out from officemax's site!

So I got the drive, 150 cdr's and the 100 pack of cases for only $39.99 and $3.29 in tax out the door! Sweet! OM just found a customer for life

/me does happy dance! Thanks MysticMan1

I have to pass up on this deal as some transmission work on my car cost me $150 more than I had planned.

Wonder if I could try that trick here??

You're assumption is wrong, if you make a purchase before midnight in any time zone you will be a day early.

Everyone feel free to copy and paste this reply to the next 100 times this question will be asked.

I'll be having it shipped to New Jersey (Eastern time zone)... will that make a difference? Because the time on the order would be their server's time, not my computer's time. The only way they could find out what time zone I'm in is by looking up my IP address, and my ISP is based in New York anyway I think.

i don't think it's done by servers, i think it's from the plant that receives the order...and i'm sure they have plants all over country.

Too many peole who just read the topic sentence and head directly to the end of the WHOLE thread and paste their question WHICH is ANSWERED like 50 (exagerrated) times thoughout the thread. Please don't post the same question when it has already been answered... Also the HD i think is only B&M now if i'm not mistaken. (For the duration of the sale.)
And also you can only use the rebates if the date and time on the receipt is within the rebate period. That is pretty sad that you guys don't know that there is a rebate period, start to end. I don't think April 1 at 11:30 pm is the same thing as April 2. Common use logic here.

that means that the store wont accept those coupons. You need to call and try another store manager...make sure you mention something like "i am insecure about buying online"

I already bought the items from the store just in case i cant get them online...but i have a question as to buying online.

I have read some posts that say that after buying online on the sale day, you should call the office after 30 min (thats how long it takes to go from website to the stores) to get a manual adjustment of price. My question is that doesn't buying online on the sale day automatically give you the same new price as the stores? I know you have to print and send a rebate coupon but that is the same as if you get it on the receipt when you buy from the store. Are those posts talking about the Instant Rebates or do those already apply to website prices right when you buy?

I am confused...please help

THANKS

From what I understand, the instant rebates and the $30 off $150 are automatically adjusted during some step of your online purchase... I could be wrong though.

Yes they were talking about the instant rebate part of the price, but that doesn't matter since Officemax removed the drive from their web site to stop people from buying the item before the sale and when it shows up again the price will be the correct $139.99 price

I hope what you are saying turns out to be the case.... and WD HD appears on their website. I've already secured one in NJ at BM... but looks like there are no flyers in NJ for this week... os I doubt if there would be any IR on the HD in New Jersey !

MysticMan1, any advice on this situation, hen local stores do not have any specials or no flyers, is the IR nationsl or regional ?

$49.99 Micro Advantage 52x CD-RW
$20 Hi-Val CD-r spindle 100

Couple Questions, I am confused if the WD Drive is the 8MB or the 2MB?? and has anyone bought this Micro Advantage CD-RW before?? It is a rebadge of what??

You need
How will they handle a re-buy with the 50 coupon? This is the problem I'm running into by buying it now and trying to get the price readjusted.

You need to buy at the list price and get the coupon added after the fact. I tried that with the last "deal" and it backfired.

a. I'm not so sure about that. That's not really a logical way to do it.
b. Since I'm having it shipped to New Jersey, the warehouse would be near New Jersey, so I'm fine.

(And I did read the OM FAQ on FW and this question wasn't in it. Maybe it should be added if it's asked so often?)
