I am waiting for the Retail rebate. I take it that most of the people got the rebate for the retail drive.

Didn't Dell handle the OEM rebate thanks to their own screw-up? I thought they did, but I also remember reading something about a rebate form for the OEM drive. But since I ordered the retail version I never checked into that.

Sorry I have not more information.

I got my rebate (retail drive) today, woohoo!
Mailed my stuff off on November 13.

Errr... I think there is no point in getting nasty with a Dell CSR since the rebate is coming from Western Digital and not Dell, that is, unless you ordered the OEM drive, in which case I have no idea where the rebate will come from.
Besides, and I know that some people would dosagree here, I believe that Dell and WDC did more than they really HAD to. All the people who ordered the OEM drive did get a rebate, even though the form clearly stated it was for the OEM. In addition, the deadline has been extended in order to account for the delayed shipping for the majority of customers. The rebate does state something like 6-8 weeks (or is it even longer?) so they are still well within time, to mail it off, that is, now, what the USPS is doing is a completely different story altogether.

And if one would want to get really technical: how many people ordering the drive for that "small business" do actually own that "small business"? I for one don't I have no problem admitting that fact.

I got mine in early Nov. and it already crapped out on me. Hopefully I'll still be able to transfer my videos from it. I RMA'd it on the WD site, so it shouldn't take long for a replacement to come. Mines was the OEM version.
