If I crank up the sharpness I start noticing vertical banding across the entire screen(evenly spaced), but only on the vg input. I got a dvi->hdmi converter, but am having prbolems showing anything other than 1280x720. I can set the display to 1280x768 and 1360, but the tv detects it as a 1080p signal and (i'm guessing) trys to rescale it. This give the picture a very noticeable jitter that I don't get from rescaling 1080i ota. Kind of pissing me off. OTA hdtv looks great, just wish I could get the vga/hdmi to work smoothly. The first time I plugged in the HDMI, my geforce 7900gt detected it as a tv(not monitor as my vga does), It thought I was using component cables and was rendering the digital output useless.

Well, I was going to take it back because of the coupon, but since the tv has no dead pixels and the backlight is pretty even across the screen I decided to keep it for now. I used a dvi to hdmi cable, and couldnt get full resolution either. Turns out you can only use true HD resolutions with hdmi. If you use a VGA cable instead you should be able to get 1360x768, but I havent tried it yet. SD picture is pretty bad, but no worse than the last one. The thing I'm most happy about is the qam works fairly well. I get most of the locals, and the odd digital cable channel. The HD channels are noticably better than my Olevia, either via cable or OTA. The stand is also failry tall, so I was able to move the center channel speaker off the floor and on the table. The only downside is there is only a digital coax out for audio, and no toshlink. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. And if something better comes along this was priced low enough that it wont bother me too much.

Strange, mine has toslink and rca audio out. I got the HDMI to work at 1360x768. I had to manually add the resolution, unclick Show standard HDTV formats, and after I selected the timing standard(either gtf or dmt), while I had the resolution applied, it works. I definitely noticed a increase in fidelity. My only complaint is that the reds seem to have a strange characteristic of streaking/blurring. Dunno why, but it isn't too bad. QAM on this is very nice, I get all 4 major networks and 3-4 pbs(each different content). Over all I'm happy with it. Now I'm just waiting for my 15ft DVI cable .

Where is the toshlink port on your set? The pics on the website show coax as well. Also, do you have an ATI card? I have a 7600GS in my pvr and with the latest drivers when you try to add a non standard HD resolution on hdmi it wont let you right away.

Yeah, saw that in another thread. I really like the tv, but I guess the universe is telling me to return it.

Toslink on the upper left(looking at from rear), nice red light ah heck. I had to play with the setting to get the resolution to stick. I believe I had to add the resolution with the TV disabled in properties, then selected the monitor in the nvidia advanced settings tab. After that I added the resolution and enabled the monitor. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

The best buy offer is right, but its for westinghouse's other 32" screen the W3213 HD. I've seen better reviews on this monitor than the W3213 HD.

Got it working from scratch again.

Connected TV ->
restarted windows to make sure it detected the TV(didn't on initial plug-in) ->
Under settings in display properties selected extend desktop and highest resolution shown for display(1920x1080, 1080p)->
clicked apply ->
went into advanced settings ->
under the geforce tab I selectednView Display Settings->
right clicked on the TV and selected change resolution ->
added 1360x768 res @ 60hz, hit add ->
selected resoution with the slider and hit apply, this changed resolution, but the tv detected it as 1080i( with subtle pixel shaking). So then I had to adjust the timing ->
in advanced timing I selected GTF under the Timing Standard drop-down. and hit ok ->
at first it didn't change the 1080i/shaking. So I have to change to a different resolution, hit apply, change back to 1360x768 and viola the tv detects the resolution at 1360x768 and the picture is rock solid.

Hopefully that helped. I would love to get some second hand feedback on my bright red blurring issue. I'm going mad trying to figure out if I should try to exchange it. If you can get the hdmi input working(at any resolution) please go to the hardforum.com and do a search(say for 8800 for example), pick a post , the post should show with the searched work highlighted in bright red. This bright red in in hdmi is blurred quite a bit on my screen, but in vga it is fine. I'd really like to know how it looks on yours.

Thats strange, I dont have it on mine, just digital coax (orange RCA). Did anyone else get a toshlink port on theirs?
