You should check out Kingston HyperX pc3000, its very high performing ram for very little...I personally have my stick at 210 2226, and many people have had similar results. Its probably going to be a lot better than that mushkin you're planning to get, and its cheaper to boot. A stick of 512 costs $90 at newegg.

Why do you need a 250 gig hardrive and a DVD-r for a gaming rig! Thats going way over board! Ask yourself what are really going to use the computer for. A special edition 100g 8mb buffer is $250 dollars cheaper! That will hold all the games you'd ever want to play. Spend the extra cash on a faster cpu!

SONY CRT MONITOR CPD-E540 RetailThe Multiscan® E540 21 $490

Dude, the best thing in your first set up was the G520P, and now you're replacing it with that one? Go with the G520P.

yeah must have been bad sticks.... must have had a lot of bad luck when buying them.

Never really liked kingston before, but specs and price fit the bill and they looked cool.... hahah thats what I get for buying something like ram based on looks.

luckily I was able to return it.

Sony CRT. I'm not sure. I'm still trying to figure out which 19" CRT to buy. Think I'll get the Sony 19" G420S... can anyone help me on this? (since I'm taking the time to help this lad out hehe and type this huge response). Well, gamers know a nice big CRT is the best way to go... 21" you can't fault. $639 seems like a great price for it so lets keep it on your list. Still $396 saved and better performance than what you selected.

The G series of Sony monitors are excellent. .24 pitch, and good refresh. Personally i've never seen the G420S, but i've seen the G520P and i own the GDM-FW900.

get a PS2 or XBOX if you're really into gaming, buy $300 PC for your work needs.

I was crazy about PC gaming, 'till I bought my PS2. Now I'm a changed man.
PS2 Games fun factors are 10X better.
You'd think the graphics bad, but gameplay is the main factor in a game.

That's idiotic. There are some games that aren't available for consoles... and even if they are, it's normally better on a PC (ie Everquest). Consoles are great for sports and car sims, but PCs are best for RPG, FPS, RTS, online gaming.

I agree with Moralpanic that it really depends on the kinds of games your play. Some are better on console, some are better on PC.

I'd rather spend those funds on a Mitsubishi 2060 or 70u with a set of logitech flagship series. or Even Cambridge MW's.
