Lab created = synthetic

The difference with a necklace with synthetic sapphire versus cubic zirconium is that the sapphire will not be as "sparkly" as CZ is since the CZ has a much higher refractive index.

Some people cringe at the diamond simulant CZ, so the "lab created" Sapphire sounds better. I believe (but may be wrong) that "lab created" without the accompanying word synthetic is in violation of Federal law. However this law is almost never enforced. Natural white sapphires are quite common and have little value because they almost always have some yellow component. Pure white natural sapphires are quite rare and are collected for their rareness.

Not entirely the same. The one from Gordon's is a Pendant and Earrings Set. The one from Zales appears to be only a pendant (perhaps larger; cannot be sure).

Went ahead and placed an order for the Gordon's set. (Thanks, Wall7486.) Then, will take it to the local Zales and see how it compares with their pendant.

unless i'm mistaken, these arent Cubic Zirconium...and they are real.

just cause they're manufactured doesnt make them not real.






and on a somewhat unrelated note, regarding manufactured diamonds, they both shine brighter, look better, and you get to avoid the whole moral dilemna about blood diamonds.

oh...and they're cheaper too.

Darn! I got the shipment from Gordon's, but the Zales sales is over.

In any case, I will go by a local Zales store and compare the the one I got from Gordon's with the Zales' product. Just to satisfy my curiosity.

BTW, I like the one Gordon's sent a lot. Whether the recipient of the gift will like it . . . is an entirely different matter.
