Thanks, that's good to know. And they seem to have the cheapest deal with plenty of capacity for web lightweights like me.

I've been using Gazzin.com for over a year with no complaints. For $9.99 you get double the bandwidth and more than double the storage of PChost's $9.99 plan... Also no limits to the # of websites you can host or email addresses.

I've been loving every bit of netfirms - you get a lot of extras, tons of space and bandwidth. Realmedia streaming has been very useful for instance.

<gasp> apparently you don't monitor your uptime close enough... ex gazzin customer here, worst experience of my life, and WHT has nothing but complaints about them.

<gasp> Its Zimu~~!!?!

Small world after all.

Anyways Zimu I already explained to you in various post on WHY we had terrible uptime in the past. It was due to our NOC which we were trying to deal with. When issue occured it was literally difficult to resolved. Since the move the new noc is only miles away where we can easily fix ANY issues that come up.

Really Zimu why do you need to bad mouth us so much from Private PM within OUR forum system, other forum system trying to get clients using your own service.

Com'on Zimu lets just leave the past and move on. Your beating us over and over when we try and try to solve your issues in the past. Yes if we mis-treated you or try ripping you off then I would totally understand. Your issues experienced were issues that our old NOC was playing with us over and over. I sincerly apologize if we put you through it but if there are anything I can do for you Zimu let us know so we can put this behind us.

Very nice deal for $35/year. DirectAdmin based, and up to six domains.

Difficult to find a fault at that price point.

i just signed up with hostpc about a month ago and have been very happy thus far with everything.

i really wish i had waited though, as that extra GB of storage space would come in handy...i don't need the bandwidth, but the disk space would have been nice.

speed is excellent (was on dreamhost before - speeds were horrid) and support has responded to the two minor issues i've had in under 20 minutes each time.

great deal on good hosting.

Seems like a great deal! I have one website currently and a second one being built as we speak. My current host is 10for10.com. $8/month, but only 1GB of space, which is becoming an issue for me. Overall, I'm pleased. But this Hostpc deal gives me 6GB's of disk space between both my sites for only $10/mo. Impossible to beat. . .unless the service sucks. But I'm reading good things about 'em. My one concern since I have had several bad experiences in the past: how reliable is their email service? Very important as both these sites are business related and I need uptime and email server dependability.

Ugh, I'm sick of dreamhost. I think I might switch to this. I don't need anything extensive, but I'd like my webmail and pics sites to load like they're not on dialup. Thanks!

I'll put in my plug for HostPC. I have several sites there, nothing hi end, and almost all of the problems I have had over the past three years were of my own doing. Flaky servers have been dealt with promptly as have most other issues. It was a pita when the hurricane hit last fall as I was out of town and had to deal with my clients via dial up from the arctic to assure them that eventually all would be OK, but otherwise Joe (McDealer on this forum) really takes care of his operation (and went way beyond the call of duty to help out after the storm).

If you are looking to host pron or run flaky BBS's you won't like HostPC, but for the rest of us it is a good home.

To - whoiswes

If you are willing to extend the contract you can get the new limits. I did about a year ago. I think I put it a ticket to do it.

Hi,

The order page asks for a domain name. Do I have to have a registered domain name first before I can order the hosting service? I realize I can't use the hosting service without a domain, but I am still looking for a good domain registration deal with "registration privacy". Yahoo wants $9/year extra for what they call Private Domain Registration. Is there a good deal on domain names with privacy?

Also, I don't see anything like a "Shared Hosting for $34.99" under
"Package" in the HostPC ordering page. What should I select?

Thanks,
gard

Hi,

For the package, is it ... "DirectAdmin Budget (12 months @ $34.99 USD ..."?

Still looking for a good deal on domain name.

I register my domains through Namecheap, I think it's $8.88/domain/yr. They have Whois Guard, which is what I think you're looking for. There's some info here:

http://www.namecheap.com/learn/privacy-...ection/whoisguard-whois-protection.asp

It's $2.88/yr for one domain, but it's currently free with all new registrations, so I imagine if you register it now, you'll only pay $8.88, but might have to pay for it when you renew the domain.

I have two sites with HostPC, I am very happy with them.

Any chance there'll be another sale soon? Apparentlly I missed the July 4th one, and my DreamHost account ends at the end of July.

My Dreamhost is up as well...I'd like to get another host that allows shell/SSH access. I don't need too much bandwidth or space, but more never hurts. =] Uptime and speed are what's important.

Is there a direct contact from HostPC here on the forums? Anyone else with thoughts?

Was it really necessary to bump a dead deal?

The owner Joe Mack is a registered AT member, McDealer although it's probably better to email (sales@hostpc.com) or visit his forums.

The only other reputable (key word) web host which offers cheap hosting is AxisHost.com but they offer fewer resources.

If you have more than one domain I would suggest researching BudgetReseller.com and SharkSpace.com

There are hundreds of other web host offers on WHT, get acquainted with the search button.
