Hey guys - I just want to say... that I DID MY PART in this. I changed my Facebook profile to be the colors of the French flag. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! NOTHING I BET!

How does it feel being a God-damned liar?

its not limited to Muslims, and no i do not hate them...
First he responds to YOUR assertion that he was talking about all Muslims and he directly refutes it...

...the affiliation of a group of people who threaten global peace does not matter they are all the same and need to be removed like the cancer they are
...then he begins talking about the clarified subject HE established without ever acknowledging or quoting your edit or his post.

You said "Muslims" in your response to his post. There is no indication that he was quoting/responding to your edit of his words and every indication that he was responding to your words in your reply. Even if he was responding to your edit of his words, he was still only doing so after adjusting what YOU said to reflect what he meant.

WTF is wrong with you?! People like you [God-damned liars] need to be removed from this forum [banned] like the cancer they are.

Still confused about the "secret" part. How is that secret--it was pretty well-documented at the time, no?

Pretty sure we were both under the impression that Felix was suggesting something that occurred in the last two days. Obviously, claiming something that was "secret" would preclude the ability to provide an actual source of the claim...which is the point of the challenge.

...and...?

It's word for word the exact same headline that he quoted: "Obama authorizes secret support for Syrian rebels." He didn't imply "...in response to current events in France." That came from your imagination (or I could say "inability to read").

Where did you or Zin get the idea that he was talking about anything more current? Have we stopped fighting ISIS? Did the arms we provided to the other rebels get returned to sender? I didn't get the memo.

FelixDeCat was clearly replying to Newell Steamer who was the first one to link it ITT. Because my post replying to you and Zin sat in my clipboard all day, I wasn't even the second to link to it (FelixDeCat). Like I said: you missed it earlier. It's kind of funny to see you two demand a link that was already provided from a person who was essentially responding to that link and then smugly act like no link would be coming, but it's even better when you get it twice more and STILL don't realize that it is exactly what he was talking about all along.

Oh, I see you responded to this claim already.

No, I didn't read the entire thread. I honestly can't hawk my way through this same type of asinine thread like we know that you do

Events like this, I tend to avoid such threads because it's the same useless bickering back and forth.

Felix has a history of bloviating about inane things and bullshit that he has conjured from within his own disturbed noggin. Such a claim without legitimacy, with such a history, generates a fair assumption from the rest of us.

And again, since you like to drag on petty semantic games endlessly: How, again, is something secret when it clearly isn't secret? :hmm:

You likely won't believe me when I say that I only read some 15% of these posts. To that: IDGAF.

Ask Reuters. It's their headline.

Reuters said:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, sources familiar with the matter said.
Looks like they have a mole.

One thing that I thought was a bit odd was when ISIS admitted responsibility for the attacks. They referred to Paris as the 'capital of prostitution', yet ISIS were posting leaflets in territories they control regarding pricing for selling flesh into slavery.

I haven't read the entire thread btw so apologies if someone already broached this topic.

I presume that because, for some esoteric reason, in their interpretation of Islam, it's not OK to voluntarily sell sexual favors, but forcing someone into it against their will is A-OK. If the person is a subhuman "infidel" of course.

I have a feeling that ISIS is like a den of sexual iniquity, for the ISIS men anyway. Some of the leaders have multiple wives. They like to lure young European converts (preferably white) to come to Syria and they make them essentially sexual playthings. But that aspect is carried on indoors while outside everyone is burkha wearing and buttoned down. So it's all OK. And this is how they treat their Islamic wives. The infidels they sell into sexual slavery.

Nice job, you almost single-handily solved the entire problem of terrorism.

Haven't read this thread but I see the fear narrative is being pushed quite successfully. Gotta get boots on the ground before ISIS kill my baby! This morning I heard that the terrists used encrypted texting apps to plan the attacks so we'll have to expand the Patriot Act of course. Then we'll finally be safe.

But that rationale then surely their idea of Paris being the capital of prostitution is irrelevant to them? Unless they were going to target only muslims that in their opinion are leading "subhuman" life styles. I wonder how long most organised religions would last for if paramilitary organisations started going after every self-proclaimed follower who didn't follow the official texts of their respective religious beliefs to the letter.

Of course mentioning things like "capital of prostitution" might just be one of those "say some shit to get the soldiers' blood up, it doesn't really have to make any coherent sense as far as our 'big picture' is concerned". Though I think that once a strategy like that is followed, it's the beginning of the end of that organisation because one day its hypocrisy will destroy it from inside.

Perhaps, but they were correct. Now it's 3 of the attackers who have been identified as French Nationals.

That won't stop the grumblings along the lines of "immigrants blah blah blah", unfortunately.

What I found a bit odd was how long it took for ISIS to claim responsibility. This attack is going on and they are applauding it via social media. Then the next day they announce responsibility? Why the time lapse?

Of course. The attack was ongoing on people were talking about boots on the ground. I also love how people wre pushing for more govt powers to spy on citizens. Because obviously their track record of stopping these attacks is wonderful.

And it didnt take us long to bring out the election time table in Syria. The bodies werent even cold and Kerry is calling an emergency meeting to get everybody to agree to an election time table.

Which brings up the insanity of our policy. Elections in Syria? Legitimate elections in Syria. Really?

I heard McCain, Graham and some NY anti terrorist guy all say we need to bring back NSA "oversight" and we need tech companies to encrypt less stuff so we can prevent attacks like these. Kind of weird how these guys think to protect freedom we should give a bunch up.

Grating more power to the state is such a backwards concept that isnt based in reality. The Boston bombing happened while the NSA was spying away. This attack happened in a country that has less restrictions on invading personal privacy. Bottom line is even with all the spying these attacks are not thwarted. To give up more liberty for something that has proved itself ineffectual is insane.

I think the NY guy you are talking about is Peter King. While watching the news during the attacks. I knew that jackass was going to come on and tell the world how we need to expand the security state to protect our freedumbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I agree with you on the warrantless wiretapping overall, I don't think you could say that it was ineffective because an attack happened. The real question, which sadly we will never know the answer to, would be how many attacks it prevented that would have otherwise been carried out. So I don't think you can say it was ineffective. (although it might have been!)

To me the argument against it is that we long ago made a deliberate choice to limit the intrusiveness of government searches even though implicit in that is the acceptance of crimes going unpunished, etc. If we want to change that choice that's fine, but just going around it is wrong.

Agree 100%, it may have not been directly said, but it was clearly implied that this 'secret' was a very recent announcement and related to the current horrific events in Paris.

He quoted the headline, word for word, and responded to it. He didn't use "secret" to imply anything because it wasn't his word (it's Reuter's).

He was talking about our EXISTING activities in Syria when he quoted the headline and said:
"Hey Barrack Hussien Obama, could you please get our nose of out Syria?

We have no business there."

He did not imply that Obama responded to the French attacks by getting involved in Syria. I don't know where you'd get that unless you thought we weren't already helping rebels in Syria.

Glad to see Obama try to shut down the anti-muslim wank going around after these tragic events.
